Is it marked out of 200 or 160? I got 140/160 For the mocks (37/40 for the mcq 70/80 for the extended and 33/40 for atp) yet my teacher still told me that i was 10 marks off an a star is that possible? come on 150/160 is like 94%
Cambridge can't possibly be that cruel :O
Do you know if the a grade falls to about 65-70 or stays at around 80? (a little info bout the a star grade would also be helpful)
    Thanks in advance
I'm not sure. I think it might be 160 raw and 200 UMS or something. :dontknow:

Nooo she's wrong You got a good A*

I think the overall A* boundary is 68% although I'm not sure.

Which variant are you sitting for? The atp was pretty easy i found a few questions in the extended paper pretty challenging though, think i messed up the heart question other than that it was okay Physics extended day after dreading it hopefully the grade boundaries will be like 70 for an a star or a

    Oh right

SAME! Physics is SO boring. And all the Physics teachers are so dull too.

Oh and if you press the little orange 'Quote' button in the bottom right, it gives people a notification that you've replied

    No it's fine

    We were all newbies once

Apparently the A* boundary is usually 80%.

Physics is just generally horrible! I did variant 2 in November 2011 and paper 3 was just awful. You guys probably already know this, though, from having done past papers. It reduced half of my class to tears. I thought it went decently, not well, not HORRIBLY, and we all took refuge in assuming the grade boundaries would be low.

    I only got a 93.

There's just something depressing about Physics. One of the old Physics labs was changed to Biology and we had a room change to it (after it changed) and it feels more welcoming now... :moon:

    WAIT, 93%?!

I hear you. Our Physics lab was so lackluster and sad, combine that with a horrible teacher and a class that couldn't care less about the subject and we had a good hour of naptime everyday. :P
I don't know why I'm taking Physics in the IB next year. Well, at least it's SL. :P

It was 151/200 for an A*, and 131/200 for an A, which is actually really generous. It makes me even more sad about my 93.
As for tips, I feel like an utter prick saying this, but STUDY the mark schemes. There's so much you can learn from them regarding how the papers are scored. There's really silly mistakes that are penalized, like not rounding up or writing your answer as a decimal instead of a fraction...
