Higher Critical Essays

Hi guys,

I am in dire need of some help with a structure or a plan for Higher Critical Essays.

I've looked at help sites and articles across the internet, but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for, and everything I do look at just looks like a load of drivel.

My teacher for the past year hasn't helped at all and I feel I can't ask him for any help.

I know quotes and all the needed information about the pieces, but I have no idea how to structure an essay, how long it should be etc, can anyone help?

I try to aim for about 2-3 sides of A4 per essay, because I find that if I try to write more, my points just become meaningless waffle :redface:

I follow the PEER approach for essays:
Point - write a topic sentence saying what this paragraph will be about and how it helps the question
Evidence - a quote or reference to the text
Explain - analyse and explain what the quote reference means, and what it shows
Refer - sum up your entire paragraph and explain directly how it answers the question (kind of like a two sentence longish conclusion)
