    The Gothic
So I thought I'd start a thread for everyone studying the Gothic for A2 English Lit, where people can post problems, questions, ideas, revision tips etc.

I'm studying Wuthering Heights, the Bloody Chamber and the Pardoner's Tale.
I love Wuthering Heights and the majority of the stories in the Bloody Chamber but haven't even picked up Geoffrey yet - can't bring myself to....don't understand it, can't find gothic elements in it - apart from the personification of 'Deeth'.

I've been studying the Bloody Chamber itself and the Tiger's Bride tonight - I found the best way to revise was to gather all notes I made in class and in the text and make a brain storm, so now it's all there in front of me on one page. Also found some interesting Botting quotes to associate with it.

The thing that is confusing me is the unheimlich, my teacher mentioned it the other day - what is it exactly and how do I put it in relation to any of my texts?

PS - AS people, I found a load of Great Gastby notes from last year if you want me to PM them to you.

You should probably start studying your third text... you won't get a good grade without it. Look for notes on the internet about it ect.

Do you have any notes on WH? Eg quotes, or anything really? I can give you some of mine as well, I'm dedicating this weekend to English Lit so will be able to over the weekend.

Im doing the Pardoner's Tale. The prologue is NOT part of the text but it is worth reading and maybe mentioning here and there. But do not go on about how is hair is "yello as wex" because that's not in the tale itself.

Do you want to exchange notes? PM me x

Make sure you talk about all the AOs and argue both sides of the question and come to a conclusion. What books are you studying?

Dr Faustus ( Christopher marlowe), Bloody chamber ( Angela carter) and Macbeth. The texts are pretty much okay, it's just engaging with the question that I keep getting wrong

Do you want to exchange notes for the BC? I could send you one of my essays if you want. I got an A in it - 32/40, although my teacher said I do veer slightly off task.
