Re: Foods to eat before a run?
I honestly think it does not matter much. Just have something light to eat before like an apple if you are going running as soon as you get up. Not for any health benefits, just to make sure you do not get really tired very quickly when you are running.
It doesn't matter too much how you do cardio, it just matters that you do it. So I would say just do things that make sure that you actually do cardio. So running on empty stomach is just a bad idea for motivation, even though it helps burning fat immediately. -
Re: Foods to eat before a run?
I went running first thing in the morning last week without eating anything and wasn't able to complete it as my legs started feeling like jelly and I felt as though I was just going to fall over, so I think it is important to have something even if it's just a banana (I had never been unable to complete a run before but this was my first morning run, I usually do it in the evenings so have been eating throughout the day).

Re: Foods to eat before a run?
I tend not to eat before a run, as I prefer running on an empty stomach (seems easier somehow?) but if I do have something, I normally just have a banana. I find that this is light enough that you don't need to wait for it to digest before you go running, but substantial enough that it gives you a bit of an energy boost. Some people also say that drinking some sort of fruit juice is helpful?
