He's not necessarily under-rated in the UK, I know a lot of people who are fans of him

I love the live album he did - Slow Dancing and Why Georgia sound amazing on that

I've also got to give props to the drummer in his band, Steve Jordan - amazing groove.
And his bassist! Pino Paladino is a boss!

He is an amazing guitarist. I'd never doubt his talent.

But, there is just something really boring about him for me. I'm not sure what it is. I just find him extremely boring and just doesn't give me the urge to want to listen to him.

I love John Mayer! Gosh I can listen to him all day and never get bored haha. I'm actually listening to him right now! Lol weird...
Top ten fave songs by him?
    1. Stop This Train
    2. Wheel
    3. Gravity
    4. In Your Atmosphere
    5. Edge of Desire
    6. Comfortable
    7. Man on The Side
    8. Daughters
    9. Hummingbird
    10. Tracing

Picking ten is incredibly hard though and I'd pick everything he's done, if I could. Off the new record I'm in love with A Face To Call Home and Something Like Olivia, both of which will be in my top 10 very soon!

    Re: John Mayer
Whats your favourite song from the new album guys

I have to say a face to call home is stealing it but speak for me is really good

Now the cover of Rolling Stone
Ain't the cover of a Rolling Stone
And the music on my radio
Ain't supposed to make me feel alone

    Now they celebrating broken things
I don't want a world of broken things
You can tell that something isn't right
When all your heroes are in black and white

those two verses are a pretty accurate commentary of the music industry from my point of view and I guess John shares that sentiment.

    Edge of desire
    Your body is a wonderland
    Perfectly lonely
Waiting on the world to change
    Gravity
    Dreaming with a broken heart
    War of my life
All we ever do is say goodbye
    In your atmosphere
    Shadow days

Haven't listened to the new album but you can probably guess from the list that Battle Studies is my favourite

He's a good guitarist, and I was a fan about 5 years ago, especially when he was playing a lot of blues, but then he just kind of abandoned that and moved on to other styles which was a bit annoying (blues music has to mean something to you and that made me question that with him). Then a few of his comments in the press (especially re: love life, though also the race thing) made him sound rather vulgar and careless, which didn't help. I've listened to the first couple of songs from this album and didn't take to it, it's no Continuum. I'm not impressed with his current look either, he doesn't really pull the hat off.

Hey! I haven't really listened to the new album yet haha. Battles Studies is one of my favourite albums by him too. Continuum would have to be another one of my favourites. Haha I laughed so hard when I first heard 'Your Body Is A Wonderland'. It literally made my day that song did :P
I actually love most of the songs you put on your list

The thing with him is that he's so incredibly talented that he seems to just get bored very quickly. I've heard him say in interviews that he likes to just try different things all the time; but that's why he has the John Mayer Trio. I presume you know about them, but if you don't you'll like that a lot more - that's all blues

Wow. His new album is #2 on the UK iTunes charts. I must say, I'm surprised, considering those charts are usually taken over by the unoriginal crap that floats about nowadays....

In Repair is another great and underrated song of his. Did you know that the instrument playing the intro is a guitar, not an organ? I only recently found this out when I watched this:

I'd recommend giving this a watch, it's amazing!
