1. Which statement is untrue
Look at attachment:

So lets go through them:

A: the larger the log(Kc) the more positive the Kc value. Thus statement A is true

B: e.d.t.a has a higher Kc value so will displace 1,2-diaminoethane

C: this is just something we have to know. It is true

D: this is also true as all others are either monodentate/hexadentatde. This is true.

It would seem all answers are true. However, B is the answer. Why?

They have very similar Kc values which suggests the stability of the complexes in about the same so edta would be unlikely to displace 1,2-diaminoethane.

What's bothering me is the en complex has only 1 ligand in that table...

so is that K value for one ligand or is it a typo and there should be there ligands

I didn't even see that. I think it should be three as well.. maybe it's a typing error. :/

but it could...any way it was not a real exam so I shouldn't worry to much
