Re: Mixed reviews on Storthes Hall?Yeah I am in the same boat Elle but I just think it will be good for the social side of things like meeting people for us first years so I don't really care that much about the state of the accommodation as long as its clean I will cope.... Did you visit it? I thought it was ok to be honest... The only bad reviews I have seen is about the bus journey and also the halls can sometimes have a hot water issue... What room type did you go for? I went for standard plus so their was a lounge area to.

Re: Mixed reviews on Storthes Hall?Ah I never got a chance to visit, always busy with work and stuff but I heard it was decent. I was an idiot and booked the room type before I even knew I wanted to go so I'm stuck with just a standard :/ I just hope it's not too bad because I know home will be a luxury in comparison to this! But I'm happy to know I'm not alone!

Re: Mixed reviews on Storthes Hall?about to start second year in september and lived here for first year. honestly, its not that bad.
i know people moan about the bus journey being 20 minutes, but most of the time its only 15 minutes, pretty reliable (think only about 2 occasions in the whole year where it didnt turn up) and only £1.20 after 6pm from storthes to town, so getting to town for nights out is pretty cheap and easy. think it cost about £10 for the whole year travel. also, its a great 20 minutes to recover from a hangover on your way to lectures...
the rooms arent as bad as what they say, any problems ive had they have fixed within the next day. ok theres marks on the wall and carpet, but its not impossible to live in.
just bring plenty of alcohol and its guaranteed youll meet plenty of people there.
