I know the handbook says a guest can only stay for 2 days (1 night), but does anyone know how strictly enforced this policy is at Queen Mary? My sister wants to visit for a week, and I want her to stay in my dorm to save money.
I was in halls last year, and there was rarely a time where security would come into my room (ok im lying my music was loud). You should be fine. The chance of you getting caught is about 1% at best.

Hey, what about if there's a fire alarm/drill and everyone has to evacuate - will there be serious beef if you have a visitor?

No, just say that he/she is staying over the night. They can't prove anything unless they want to waste unnecessary labour hours

    Hi guys,

Can anyone help me out please. I have a conditional offer from Queen Mary Uni and I have to apply for accommodation soon. I am looking at an en-suite economy room and an en-suite standard room. The economy room can have up to 11 people sharing the kitchen and the standard room can have up to 7 people.

I was wondering what you guys recommend? btw im ill be doing a postgraduate degree.

    Thanks
You're lucky you have figured out you want to live en suite, I don't even have that figured out for this September and I fly in a month to London. Good luck

Thank you very much for the reply, I think I have to send an e-mail to them before it is too late, there are other accomodation facilities outside the campus for instance Unite etc. What do you guys think about the best option for a postgraduate student? Stay in campus? Or look for other facilities, because I am really confused about that issue..

I would prefer on campus cause that makes everything easier and accessible. But then again Im an international student for postgrad and might be thinking from a different perspective.
Im still 137th on the Queenmary accommodation waiting list :/
    Good luck with your search

considering many people don't make their grades, and some people might want to pull out and go uni a year later, you have a chance

Honestly, as long as you're not causing havoc or destroying the place, and your flatmates are cool with it, there won't be a problem. Just keep stuff relatively clean and tidy and you'll be fine

    Lindop House 03C?
Plus what's it actually like at Lindop? I never went on an open day for QMUL as I went through clearing. I hear it's single-sex, I'm not sure whether that's a good thing or not?
Lemme know if you've got any useful info.
