    Astrophysics Question
    Hi there,

Can anyone help me with this astrophysics A-Level problem?

What does a a open and a closed universe mean? I think the question is referring to the ultimate fate of the universe and what decides whether we are in a open or closed universe?

    Re: Astrophysics Question
    Open means expands forever
Closed mean comes back to the big crunch.

No worries, I found the answer. It depends on the amount of matter and the critical density
