Thought there was a lot more to write than in the prose there weren't as many multiple choice ones. What did people put about the compliment of her having white arms!?

I think you can actually because it says you can only not talk about edexcel or ibo exams on the homepage

anyway I just found this site the latin page is really good as well. I though to day was easier than the prose, but maybe the verse is easier than the prose??

really worried for the lang though..

I said that it was a compliment because it meant that she could afford to stay inside all day instead of having to work in the sun like poorer women would have to. So in Ancient Greece it was 'better' to have white arms if you were a woman because it meant that you were rich enough that you didn't have to do manual labour outside all day.

It doesn't apply to OCR exams and specifically this one because this isn't an international exam. It's only taken here in the UK, and anyone who hasn't done it yet is supervised without access to the Internet. We can discuss it freely

I preferred the prose...I liked the short wuestions on the verse...
but, that was one beast of a ten marker...how do they expect to write something on FOUR lines ?! O_o jeez.
I thought the 8 marker was okay though. Oh well. the paper could've been worse

RE 'white armed Andromache' I put the thing a bout not working and I added something about her being fir/beautiful because I wasn't sure...will I get penalised for that?

Nah my teacher said you could have being beautiful as women who had white arms were seen as being pretty in Homeric society it was only 1 mark tho wasn't it?

We all put it showed purity and beauty

I thought the essay questions were really good! For the 10 marker I said about imperative 'δοτε' and mentioned a religious tone and spoke about how lots of things showed the closeness between Hector and Astyanax. I was dreading the 8 marker but I was really glad when I saw it.

A lot of people (3- that's half the Greek set) from my centre put it shows that she is a noblewoman, as she doesn't work in the fields.

There's only 6 of us too. However it was all a bit crazy because one person did the paper earlier under isolation because he had 2 clashes that day, another is in year 13 and so sat it normally, but the rest of us do Latin too so had to do Latin and then Greek soon after.

    Such fun!

What are the odds that the paper won't have some sort of erm... *kinky* reference in them?

e.g. the past paper about Echo...

I thought the paper was harder than the prose, that ten-marker was horrible!

p.s there's only two people doing Greek at my school :L
