Lets call ourselves the Dominion, sounds very imposing.
how about "The Electorate of Great Britain" there haven't been many states calling themselves electorates for centuries I don't think, and I always thought that having your ruler being called "The Elector of Britain" sounded more menacing

While we're renaming things, we should change the HoC to the Legion of Doom.

Mostly so every news report can contain the line: "Meanwhile, at the legion of doom..."

how about renaming 10 downing street "The PRime Minister's Lair", so they can say, 'and David Cameron is seen here exiting his lair this morning, on the way to a session with the legion of doom"

Yes. and re-name the government as the axis of evil so the line would be:
'and David Cameron is seen here exiting his lair this morning, on the way to a session with the axis of evil at the legion of doom"

Make us sound as evil and sinister as possible, no countries will mess with us then

The house is too communist to pass any of my transport bills.

Cut all non road related transport spending that is my only aim as transport secretary.
Well, I believe that you should at least try.

Can I ask what you mean by non road relation spending? Does this mean cuts to funds going into trains, cycling etc? If so, I wouldn't bother with that idea. All other modes of transport as equally as important as the roads. Some of those modes of transport will not have an impact on pollution levels in major cities/towns.

Can we move the transport discussions into the ask the coalition thread.

Can't see all of that map. Does border include Sheffield in Scotland

As Shadow Transport Secretary, I agree with this from Morgsie. You are meant to be focusing on Transport Bills/Motions and as I've already put one forward to the house, I think this is advisable.

It's fine to drift off now and then but you're not focusing on your main role in the House.

And it's a no from me to this bill.
Please post any questions/ statements like this on the ask a coalition thread as it is derailing the debate.

Cyclists use roads and trains are outdated and ineffective.

It wasn't exactly much of a debate though. Its difficult to take this Bill seriously.

Well no, but there's no need to go on about transport in a thread about renaming the country.

I'm sorry, I should discuss this in the Ask the coalition thread however, this does concern this bill slightly as internetguru submitted it when he should at least submit one Transport bill to fulfill his MP role.

Cycling is an alternative mode of transport to roads and trains and bikes do not pollute the atmosphere in the slightest.

How is that relevant? We already have roads and having ridden bikes before I know that they don't need much else. Trains just do not fit their purpose, outside of London their only real use is to get from one city to another which is not really what people use transport for.

he he, no way would anyone mess with us! We could have the "Consortium of Lords" as well, Consortium sounds a bit more threatening than house

It's a basic fact. Trains do fit a purpose, they take millions of people around the country wherever they need to go. They are a vital mode of transport.

I'm not going to get into this here - if you want to continue the debate, start it on the 'Ask the coalition' thread

A joke bill in my opinion, no one seems to have voted yes.
