Re: Can i sue Student Finance?
First off, you still have loads of time left to have your situation assessed for the next academic year. I highly doubt you will not receive your student finance on time or to the same level as previous.
This sadly is a life lesson about how to deal with very large and at times, inefficient, organisations. If sending letters or documents, take a photocopy for your records and send recorded delivery so you can be certain it has arrived and you have proof it was sent. Also, ask to be copied into any emails one sends to the other regarding confirmation letters, etc.
Try to relax a bit as getting stressed will only make you feel worse, not speed up the process. If anything, you will irritate those on the other end of the line that will otherwise help.
You may sue if you wish. Whether you will be successful I highly, highly, highly doubt it. Although I am not a solicitor or practising legal professional so perhaps seek the appropriate advice elsewhere. Perhaps rather than the costly process of legal advice, you should apply for special considerations from your exam board. I expect the result of that will be the same as a frivolous lawsuit! Always wanted to say frivolous lawsuit so thank you for the opportunity.
Good luck! -
Re: Can i sue Student Finance?
Good luck suing a company which is giving you free money, bound to go down well

Honestly though, calm down. No lawyer would advise you to do anything yet. Wait and see how it goes, after a few weeks more, contact a solicitor if you really feel like you need to. Most likely thing that'll happen is a judicial review (Only skimmed over this so far, so don't know if you'd be successfull) which may just be giving you the money your entitled to. -
Re: Can i sue Student Finance?
What exactly are you trying to sue them for? That you don't have any money yet? I don't think this is an offence so I don't see what you aim to do by this. If you muck around with changing unis etc of course student finance are going to take a while to sort everything out for you, you're not the only student they have to deal with and I expect it will say somewhere in their T&C that they might need longer to deal with such situations. If you try to sue you'll just look like an idiot and they might be even less likely to cooperate with you.

Re: Can i sue Student Finance?LOL you're welcome. I doubt i'll sue them as its lot of hassle and i know nothing about lawsuits/soliticors but i do have all papers as proof. They said they send me new assessment letter for the A university but i never got it lol. Hoping they fix it soon.(Original post by StuPro)

I'm not suing them though. I'm frustrated by how they are disorganised and dont give me any answers on why they have me in wrong university. They say its my old university and the university says its not them so idk. Maybe technical fault as they tell me(Original post by infairverona)
