Wanting to study Media based course
Well, at the moment I'm doing Media a2, photography AS, Applied Science AS (Would have been IT but couldn't do it cause the block was in the same as my media) and Im getting B's and C's, need 260 for my favourite course (Media Society and Communications)
Just wondering if I have the right courses to be able to do this? My media course I'm doing at the moment basically is similar to the modules in the degree course.. -
Re: Wanting to study Media based course
You seem to have the right subjects
I've been accepted to Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh to study Media, and I studied A2 Media, A2 ICT and A2 History. I was accepted into all five of my UCAS choices and the majority of them wanted either Media or English at A-Level, one or the other.
So you seem to be on track

Calmed my fears down haha!
My other dilemma is, I went to secondary school at a different school to the sixth form I'm at now.. I know they photocopied my GCSE sheet thing, but I've lost mine.. Well, my dad threw it out when my parents separated (was also done when we stopped talking) so I have no idea how to get my GCSE exam board lists.. When we did UCAS last year everyone got given a sheet with the exam boards, there grades but I didn't haha.. Dilemma and a half cause I know they want C's in english, maths, science or something, I got CCBB lol. Gah, Wont be applying till september this year though, so gives me time to check both of my houses -
Re: Wanting to study Media based courseI had exactly the same problem this year when I applied lol I had to go back to my secondary school and thankfully they still had copies that they could give me. You should try going back to your secondary school, even if they don't have a copy, they'll be able to tell you what you need to do(Original post by kayzer123)

just worrying about "what if" I dont manage to get 260 ucas points even though I'm making sure I do or get higher than it. Should be getting b's in media, science and a C/B in photography if I work as hard as I am now..
If I miss the 260 points by say.. 20 points, will they still consider me? I have a year left to finish my 2 as's so give's me time to figure things out -
Re: Wanting to study Media based courseSpeak to your old school now about your certificates because if you do not have the certificates (not just the results slips) then you will need to get replacements from the exam boards. You will need your GCSE certificates time and time again throughout life - even when you apply for jobs with a degree (and a postgrad degree) there will still be GCSE requirements that you will have to prove you meet.(Original post by kayzer123)
