What exactly is the Russell Group?
I firmed Queen Mary for next year and apparently it's a part of the Russell Group, I tried checking on Google but I never really got the message
How is this supposed to benefit the university/students/graduates?
Sorry for the kinda stupid question

It's an association of universities that work together on matters where co-operation helps them all, like the allocation of research funding and lobbying the government. In terms of direct benefit to students, it's not enormously relevant beyond woolly claims of 'prestige' and similar things.
