Anyone miss the old Linkin Park?
I know Linkin Park have always been versatile but my favourite era of Linkin Park was between Hybrid Theory and Meteora (my favourite album of theirs). In their newer albums, I didn't mind the odd song here or there like "Leave out all the rest" but their new albums generally ain't got the passion that linkin's past songs had.
I hate to say this but I've stopped listening to their songs/following them. I'll always remember their old songs with happiness and nostalgia. But I can't pretend to like their new albums these days.
Do y'all agree that their older songs are better or not? If you do like their newer albums, can you recommend a good song on there (I haven't heard all of the songs on their new albums)?
Also, what are your top 3 songs from Linkin Park?
Mine are:
Easier to run
Numb
Breaking the habit (the video for this song is awesome as well).Last edited by Cable; 12-05-2012 at 21:56. -

Re: Anyone miss the old Linkin Park?
People change you have to accept it or move on
Really can't expect them to be making the same music all the time. If they did you'll be complaining that they are. There's no pleasing people .........
I think it's best when there's a change because even if you don't like their recent stuff the fact that they are always changing will still keep you interested in what they might release next
Anyway I read in Kerrang Mag Interiew that their new stuff is more like their old stuff so they may be heading back to their roots but people need to open their minds and music tastes a bit more .... -
Re: Anyone miss the old Linkin Park?
no cos im not twelve :P in all honesty i also enjoyed hybrid theory and meteora as a teenager, but wasnt breaking the habit a newish single? either way i think their song writing is still the same...maybe improved slightly but the sound is a lot less heavier which i do not like as much.

Re: Anyone miss the old Linkin Park?Breaking the habit was in Meteora.(Original post by bananaterracottapie)

And yes, I also don't like the fact that their songs have overall gotten less heavier in their newer albums. But let's see what happens in their next album. -
Re: Anyone miss the old Linkin Park? The thing I like about "In the end" is that most people I know who listen to other genres (e.g. hip-hop, r'n'b, pop) always say that they like the song. It's a song that has appealed to so many different people. And in some cases, it was the song that really introduced them to linkin park and made them a fan.(Original post by ThaChronic)
Yes, their older stuff was much better than their stuff today.
Top 3:
In The End
Numb
Papercut -
Re: Anyone miss the old Linkin Park?
I don't mind their new stuff. Minutes to Midnight was a bit eh, but I loved A Thousand Suns... I could definitely see some of their old stuff showing through amongst the new. It has a lot of great tracks like Wretches and Kings, Burning in the Skies and When They Come For Me that are on par with HT and Meteora, IMO.
From the old albums, my top 3 are In the End, Breaking the Habit and Hit the Floor.
"And all those lies have got you floating up above us all... but what goes up has got to fall."

Re: Anyone miss the old Linkin Park?Faint and One step closer were both awesome songs. Real passion in them songs.(Original post by chronic_fatigue)
I have to agree, but I do like What I've Done which is from Minutes to Midnight.
Top 3
Numb
One Step Closer
Faint
What I've done wass also good as well.Last edited by Cable; 12-05-2012 at 16:45. -
Re: Anyone miss the old Linkin Park?Lol. You gotta be kidding me(Original post by lukewarm3)
no. stop listening to music that gives you a head-ache. start listening to EDM.

I just checked out a song by EDM (Rock the flock). It's not bad/quite good but it's not my thing. In fact, dubstep, D'n'B and Electro aren't really my thing.
Although, I do like the odd stuff in there like:
P money & Magnetic Man - Anthemic
Nero - Guilt
Aeruis - DatA
