Re: How many hours a week are you at uni?I'm at Aberdeen. Most days we are in 9-1 or 9-3 with lectures. Afternoon anatomy/clinical skills/tutorials usually last 2hrs roughly twice a week.(Original post by tpxvs)
just thought itd be interesting to compare how many hours of lectures different medical schools have.. also, how many more hours do you put in per week? oh and what medical school you at?
Study outside of uni probably works out at a couple of hours every night with more on the weekend if I am feeling keen

Re: How many hours a week are you at uni?so about 6 hours, 5 times a day.. 30 hours. plus the 2 hours twice a week.. which makes it 34 in total. couple hours every night is another 14 hours. 48 hours in total now. and extra on weekend if you feel keen, so like 50+ hours a week? really??(Original post by TooSexyForMyStethoscope)

Re: How many hours a week are you at uni?Well it isn't 9-3 solid. There will be hour breaks for lunch etc. That does sound like quite a lot but is pretty standard I think(Original post by tpxvs)

Go to uni until 5...go home...spend an hour or two going over lectures...it isn't that bad. That is just me, I have no idea if that is representative
Plus you will get Wednesday afternoons off for sports. -
Re: How many hours a week are you at uni? That's a lot of work! Do you find that doing all that keeps you up to date with everything or do you still need to step it up further when exams come round?(Original post by TooSexyForMyStethoscope)

When I was in your year I did maybe one afternoon a week in the library outside of lectures. Plus six hours at work, and we all know reading GP notes counts as revision

Re: How many hours a week are you at uni? That sounds like a lot! Is that just because Aberdeen has a more traditional course structure?(Original post by TooSexyForMyStethoscope)

Re: How many hours a week are you at uni?One would assume so. It is difficult to give you an accurate picture as the timetable varies considerably from week to week. Depending on which groups you are in, you might find that your clinical skills and anatomy are at the start of the block or are more spread out. My original post would be one of the busiest weeks.(Original post by Happydude)

Self study is always difficult to estimate. Most evenings I try to cover the material in lectures that day, others prefer to review them in their breaks throughout the day. -

I am male. Pink user names are the ultimate symbol of masculinity.

Re: How many hours a week are you at uni?
9/10-5/6 with breaks so maybe 5 or 6 hours a day? Wednesday afternoons off and normally 1-2 hours work in the evening and a bit more at weekends.
Now in clinical years I find I'm there a lot less. I tend to leave earlier (to beat the rush hour more than anything else) but if I've had a rubbish morning I'll stay later on the wards to get more done. We've also have evening lectures every couple of weeks or so too. -

Re: How many hours a week are you at uni?Honestly? Probably about 30 hours a week, with 15 of those being lectures. Much less in third (intercalated) year, and slightly less now in 4th year.(Original post by tpxvs)
