Re: Have you guys all started revising yet ?Oh yeah we did that one for our mocks. I have done okay on the papers I have done meaning B's, but have trouble on some of the questions.(Original post by AishaTara)
ah probs because its used for mocks, as its the only one with the new spec. I'll have a look for it though, and ah how did you do in past papers? here it is : http://web.aqa.org.uk/qual/newgcses/...?id=06&prev=06 -
Re: Have you guys all started revising yet ?You just have to include what the ingredients are used for in the dish I think and mention how the ingredients follow the design brief.(Original post by goldstander212)

Re: Have you guys all started revising yet ?heres a tip: think about it logically most of the questions are common sense e.g. hazards with electrical equipment 'spell stuff out for the examiner'(Original post by shyamshah)
Oh yeah we did that one for our mocks. I have done okay on the papers I have done meaning B's, but have trouble on some of the questions.
e.g.
1. its dangerous, electricity may come into contact with water
2. sharp objects harmful when one is not careful
3. electric shock
4.wires all over the place can be hazardous -can cause a fire if left on
be critical, i imagine myself in the kitchen in the situation and I think of all the pros and cons. -
Re: Have you guys all started revising yet ?Yeah, the questions I find hard are the causes and preventions sort of questions. My teacher said to not just write the opposite for prevention of the cause etc. so I find those questions hard to answer.(Original post by AishaTara)

Re: Have you guys all started revising yet ?You'll probably be alright if you cram it from now on, I knew that I'd be under pressure if I didn't start revising quickly so I started revision in February.(Original post by goldstander212)
my first exam is on wednesday and i still havent :L -
Re: Have you guys all started revising yet ?
I started revising casually for Biology (Tuesday, the first exam) since last couple of days. An hour a day or so, I felt motivated and happy about how I'm doing until I had a mock exam in which I feel I got a B if not less.
But then on the other hand, it seemed like a ****ty paper to me, since I nail the other ones for A*. -
Re: Have you guys all started revising yet ?OMG ME! I have a B2 resit as well thanks to that horrendous paper in January and I agree completely about the how science works questions, I hate them with a passion!(Original post by letsbehonest)
Who here is dreading B3 AQA? I've done all the past papers and it is quite difficult. Too many HOW SCIENCE WORKS questions -.-

Re: Have you guys all started revising yet ?I sat that paper last year. LOL. June 2011 was such a hard exam. There's a thread on here somewhere and everyone was complaining so much.(Original post by letsbehonest)

I thought there was a really big gap between unit 3's and unit 2's.
Now for my biology AS exam tomorrow!

Re: Have you guys all started revising yet ?I payed for a B2 retake because I got a B in my ISA but luckily we had a chance to do another ISA which I somehow managed to get an A* in so I'm not doing B2 anymore. I actually got 88ums in that, I was expecting higher :/(Original post by meee?)

How many UMS points do you need to get the grade you want?
I need to get 82ums in bio, 84 in chem and 92 in physics. I'm doing a P2 retake which I'm hoping to do really well in so it eases the pressure of P3 which isn't actually too bad.
Anyway, biology - have you seen the number of 4 and 5 markers?
Its pathetic! Especially these obscure questions which begin with 'suggest'. The fermentor stuff is annoying me - I keep losing marks. The weird graphs with like two and three dependent variables -.- -

P3 and C3 are quite easy. C3 analysis stuff needs a lot of memorizing though!
B3 is where the problem lies. I agree that June 2011 exam was bloody hard. -

I agree - chemistry was more straightforward, in B3 they always managed to twist it somehow... Chemistry at AS is so much harder than GCSE though, it's crazy!
Ahh, I just didn't get P3 at all.
All of the mirrors and lenses stuff just made no sense to me whatsoever!
Good luck with all your exams! I'm sure you'll do great!

Re: Have you guys all started revising yet ?Well if I want an a* i'll have to get an average of 95 on both papers (no chance of that happening) but for an a I don't need as much.(Original post by letsbehonest)

I'm doing p2 again as well for the same reason as you, i'm not so worried about that though physics it's relatively straightforward.
The whole of these biology papers annoy me tbh, the gap between bio compared to chem and phys is unreal! Absolutely dreading next monday!

Re: Have you guys all started revising yet ?
I started revising yesturday for history and physics.
But I genrally don't revise until the night before when i am like "sh!t my exams tomorrow" even then it will only be for around 2 hours.
I genrally get B's in one exam i revised 3 weeks before and got an A. so i think i would rather put in less time :/. I just want to pass.
Ahh, I just didn't get P3 at all.
