Help minecraft system requirements
I have been thinking about getting minecraft for PC but don't know if my laptop can handle t as i have heard it lags
my laptop spec is as follows
Sony Vaio VGN-NW24S
Intel Pentium core 2 duo processor (2.2 GHz, 2 MB Cache)
3GB DDR2 memory
and just a standard graphics card (Intel GMA 4500M).
Thanks -
Re: Help minecraft system requirementsHell no.(Original post by reece111)
Do you rekon I should get the Xbox Live Arcade version instead? -
Re: Help minecraft system requirementsI don't think it'll run. My dad's laptop which has a 2.4GHz 1st gen i3, 4GB RAM and slightly better integrated graphics (I think) barely makes 10-15 FPS on lowest settings.(Original post by reece111)

If you can't run it and you want to play it your only options are buying the Xbox version or buying a new PC.Last edited by Intriguing Alias; 13-05-2012 at 17:35. -
Re: Help minecraft system requirementsThanks thats really helped! I'll get the xbox version as there is no point in getting it and it doesn't even work on the lowest setting with lag.I don't think it'll run. Re: Help minecraft system requirementsI would say yes, I downloaded it on Wednesday and am really enjoying it so far. Don't know why Vlad would say no, there's obviously not the content support (yet) but it's still very fun and the core experience is the same.(Original post by reece111)

Re: Help minecraft system requirementsWhy don't you just see how creative mode works.(Original post by reece111)

Re: Help minecraft system requirementsThere are a couple of minecraft mods that improve framerate and performance. Try Optifine Multicore(Original post by reece111)

Re: Help minecraft system requirements
I get around 15fps on my netbook on low settings
Specs:
1gb DDR3 ram
1.5ghz atom dual core
Intergrated (can't remember specifically but something crappy).
On my P4 it runs at 60fps
Specs:
Pentium 4 @ 3.4ghz
HD 4670
1gb DDR3
I run a dedicated server on my netbook and avoid playing games on it. MC is a poorly optimised game on computer but the port for Xbox 360 is pretty damn good. It runs @ 60fps and supports up to 4 players splitcreen (hdmi only) and 8 players online. However, there are also drawbacks such as the lack of mods. I can't stress how much fun mods bring to a server with your mates (check out bluexephos videos).
Download a *cough* pirated *cough* copy *cough* for your pc to see if it works. Notch doesn't mind, he even told someone to do it.
”Just pirate it. If you still like it when you can afford it in the future, buy it then. Also don’t forget to feel bad.
” quote from Notch.
If it works fine, then buy it. Don't get the 360 version unless the pc version runs badly. -
Re: Help minecraft system requirementsDrawback to the 360 version is the map size limit(Original post by EstebanK0)
