Re: The Legend of KorraI still expect Asami (the other pretty girl) to turn out to be an evil bitch.(Original post by kaygee)
I love the fact that Korra is in love with that firebender forgot his name, and he loves her back. Screw the other pretty girl, she just came out of nowhere.lol. I hope korra can defeat Amon and take his bending powers.

Re: The Legend of Korra
I think you are absolutely right about that. But we all know who he really loves and that is Korra. I mean, in the end the guy always gets the girl minus a few distractions (such as Asami), since Aang got Katura, so Korra is definitely gonna get the guy - hopefully. I mean the fire-bender is so funny and makes the cartoon interesting. I wish they'd upload the next episode soon.

Re: The Legend of Korra
Loving this series, really glad the writers didn't just flop after the last airbender series, this one is fantastic.
My prediction is Amon is actually absorbing people's bending, not just taking it away. The more he absorbs the more powerful he becomes, and Korra's gonna have to master airbending (and the avatar state) as that's the only element he can't absorb in mass amounts, so he'll be weak to it.
I forgot to mention that Amon's hands when "taking away bending" are in a different position to the way Aang's are, and we know Aang is genuinely taking away people's bending, touching the forehead and chest, whereas Amon touches the forehead and neck. I think this implies that there is more to it.Last edited by A level Az; 22-06-2012 at 13:43. -
Re: The Legend of KorraOooh, that's a great theory! I still wonder if Amon is someone connected to the old gang somehow...(Original post by A level Az)

As for the charecters, personally, I feel that both Korra AND Asami are being dragged down by whiny Mako, Bolin's alot more fun. I hope we get to see more of the world next season, I'm really curious as to how it's like beyond Republic City. -
Re: The Legend of KorraAmon's father might have been (if his story turns out to be true and not just a way of getting sympathy from non-benders). I'm gonna hate it if Asami betrays the group because of Mako's feelings towards Korra, that would be pretty suckish, and yeah I agree we need more Bolin(Original post by Also Known As)

He's the closest thing to the Sokka of the group, and I LOVED Sokka, so I wish they'd give him more airtime.
On another note, can't wait for the season finale tomorrow
!
And I'm even more sure about my theory than ever after seeing the finale trailer on youtube.
Spoiler:ShowSeems like Amon has got Korra and Mako in a spot away from everyone else, and it looks like he's bloodbending them as their hands are shaking etc. I think Korra will probably have to go and learn from Katara in the next book (Water) on how to overcome bloodbending.
I wonder, what would happen if Amon tried to absorb Korra's bending whilst she was in the Avatar State? Would he get the bending of all the past Avatars?

Re: The Legend of KorraI finally saw the trailer, you're right Aang & Amon have difference stances when they take away bending, I guess that could be a clue that Amon is not really able to permanently take away a person's bending. Which for Lin's sake, I hope so.(Original post by A level Az)

Lol, one of the YT commentors said that maybe Amon is Azula's son/descendent, I see no evidence for that but he certainly has her ruthlessness, ha ha. -
Re: The Legend of KorraI think that what especially makes Amon creepier is that no one can stand up to him. He seems to be stronger than everyone else he's ever faced, and the fact that he's taking it easy on them just makes it even scarier. Ozai always seemed like a weak prick. "Oh well done, you beat up your only son!".(Original post by Naami)
I love the writers for this show. This season could have gone wrong in so many ways but it's absolutely perfect atm. Lovin' the whole industrial thing going on and Amon is a much scarier antagonist than the Fire Lord could ever be. Seriously, he creeps me out. -
Re: The Legend of Korra
Finished the entire Avatar show.
I only got into it a few days ago so I did a marathon run through it. Loved it and I liked how the Zuko character developed (was a bit worried about the route he was taking at the end of Book Two).
I'll be getting starting on Legend of Korra now, though I've noticed there are graphic novels continuing the Avatar story... Are these necessary/canon? Are they good? -
Re: The Legend of KorraI never even knew those graphic novels existed until this very moment. They're not necessary, I don't know if they're canon, I wouldn't say I've missed out on anything by not reading them.(Original post by Ape Gone Insane)

I agree, I was a bit sceptical of what was happening to Zuko, but I fell in love with him shortly before they started up that tea shop. -
Re: The Legend of KorraThey seem to carry on a lot of the story following the Hundred Year War with links to Korra. I/we can just read the Wiki summaries.(Original post by Hype en Ecosse)

Korra seems good so far. Amon and the Equalists are far more intriguing adversaries than the Fire Nation were. I'm not sure about the Steampunk/American 1920s esque setting though. Takes some getting used to. Korra also seems like the complete opposite of Aang. -
Re: The Legend of KorraI agree, but at the same time I don't think the plot of Korra would be workable if not for the more cookie-cutter benders vs. benders story that preceded it in.(Original post by Ape Gone Insane)

Re: The Legend of KorraOh yeah, that's nothing new. You can see the same pattern in some literature, comics and films. You'll have the first story where it's magic users vs magic users or mutant vs mutant and then in any sequels, it's the rise of anti-magic or anti-mutant agendas seeking to suppress the others. But to draw a distinction between the plot and the villains: the Fire Nation always seemed more 'in your face' dumb brute force adversaries who could be overcome by sheer power or going all Avatar God mode. The mystery behind Amon, his intelligent and calculating nature and the way he can take away bending elevates him above that into a much more sinister and effective villain.(Original post by BigFudamental)

Not necessary to read the graphic novels. -
Re: The Legend of KorraI dont want to spoil things for you but yeah Amon is very cunning, he's like a mixture of Azula and Jet.(Original post by Ape Gone Insane)

Amon can waterbend, I'm not surprised he is a bender because I thought considering he is so cunning, the whole getting burnt by fire nations was probably a fake story to gain approval from non-benders. He can bloodbend to remove others bendingLast edited by Luxray; 23-06-2012 at 18:09. -
