Re: The Legend of Korra
The soundtrack has been awesome, I loved how they reused Spoiler:ShowAang's theme when Korra entered the Avatar state in the finale
General Iroh having Zuko's voice was a bit weird.
Confused about what they will call Book 2. Energy maybe
Also wonder if Book 2 will continue with the Equalist movement or set out on a new path with a different agenda.
Mako is a two-timing bastard.
Do feel for Asami a bit.Spoiler:ShowMother dies at the hand of benders, father tries to kill her, boyfriend cheats on her.
We will probably see Zuko's daughter and Aang and Katara's daughter in Book 2.Last edited by Mr.Messy; 24-06-2012 at 15:09. -
Re: The Legend of Korra
When I first started watching I had a lot of expectations for it to even remotely live up to the Legend of Aang but I have to admit Bryke and co did it perfectly, the whole series was awesome. The series finale was great as well, a typical avatar ending. I hope Book 2 is just as good. I'll admit though I'm still a bit half and half with General Iroh having Zuko's voice, I can't really take him too seriously at the moment :P I love how they've incorporated all the old characters in though whether its through flashbacks or through their children.
Bumi was in the series Finale(Original post by Hype en Ecosse)
I can't believe no one's mentioned Commander Boomy yet either. I loved Boomy in the original series!
He didn't appear really until the end minus the odd mention from General Iroh but he came in at the end. Hopefully now we've met Tenzin and Bumi, Kya will show up in book 2.

'although the first avatar was a continuing story the new series will consist of very little passing over each season'
i shall try to find it for you -
Re: The Legend of KorraThat's what I was saying! After having seen Bumi show up at the end, I couldn't believe no one had commented on it in this thread.(Original post by Remus.)

It'll interesting to know if Bumi is as crazy as his namesake, ha ha! -
Re: The Legend of KorraWe've already seen grown up Katara though(Original post by Also Known As)
I hope we see grown up Zuko and Katara, and maybe even Suki as well.
I really want to see Kya
I'd also love to hear more about Yangchen, the airbending avatar before Aang. She sounds so interesting, but I can't really imagine how she would come up.
"Though an Air Nomad, Yangchen was feared in her time due to her willingness to do "whatever it takes" to protect the world and keep it in balance. No threats of war occurred for an entire generation after her time"
She sounds badass. -
Re: The Legend of KorraOh, you...
I completely forgot about that, lol, but yeah I meant like in middle-age like we saw Suko, Aang, and Toph.
Yeah, I really liked the brief flashback we were shown of her, I liked her attitude, especially in comparison to Aang's pacifist nature.(Original post by Liam_G)

Re: The Legend of KorraIt's just an action cartoon. I daresay if you liked Dragonball Z as a kid, you'll like the Legend of Aang now. It's a family show. Supposed to be enjoyed by everyone!(Original post by Deshi)
Are these Avatar shows any good? The first one is on Netflix but it seems a bit childish? But all you guys seem to like it. -
Honestly it's brilliant particularly after the firs season where it gets a bit darker. The storyline is great and it's got a lot of funny moments.(Original post by Deshi)

The spin off Legend of Korra is quite different because it's even more dark but still very enjoyable

Re: The Legend of Korra
GREAT NEWS!
http://bryankonietzko.tumblr.com/
"The Legend of Korra has been picked up for an additional 26 episodes, which will be split into Books 3 & 4! Mike and I had been hoping to announce this big news to the crowd at the Korra SDCC panel tomorrow morning, but the network put out a press release yesterday. And as we suspected, people are pretty confused, understandably so. Hopefully people are also excited.
I’m sure I’ll be trying to clear this up in posts for a long time to come, but I’ll lay it all out right now:
–Book 1 = 12 episodes
–Book 2 = 14 episodes
–Book 3 = 13 episodes
–Book 4 = 13 episodes
–TOTAL = 52 episodes
Why are the four books split up into those numbers of episodes, you might ask?
Initially, Nickelodeon picked up Korra as a 12-episode miniseries. Their idea was to do 12-episode arcs that were more standalone than the original Avatar series. Mike and I were cool with this idea, as we had originally wanted the seasons to be 12 episodes long instead of 20, and creatively we liked the idea of doing tighter story arcs.
The original plan was that if Nickelodeon wanted more episodes, they would order them 12 episodes at a time. But while we were in production on Book 1, Nickelodeon decided to change their season lengths from 20 episodes (like Avatar had) to the more standardized international length of 26 episodes. They liked how Book 1 was coming out and decided to round out the order to fit their new 26-episode mold, and we got a 14-episode pick-up, which became Book 2.
Then, the network wanted even more Korra, so they picked up another order of 26 episodes. Mike and I wanted to stick with the shorter “books,” so creatively we are splitting the second order of 26 into Books 3 & 4, 13 episodes each.
What makes this even more confusing is that the network considers each block of 26 episodes a “season,” which is another reason we try to stick to calling these Korra arcs “books.” So for the network’s purposes, Books 1 & 2 are Season 1, and Books 3 & 4 are Season 2.
When will Books 2, 3, and 4 come out?
Someday!
What will happen after Book 4?
Mike and I plan to wrap up the Korra storyline at that point with the close of Book 4. Then I plan to crawl into a dark cave and go into hibernation. And hopefully see my wife more often.
I hope that clears it up. SEE YOU IN SAN DIEGO! If you can’t make the panel and Nick booth signing tomorrow, we’ll be signing at the Dark Horse booth on Saturday, I *think* at 2:30 (but I’m not sure). If you are going to SDCC, please be safe! You probably already heard, but tragically a convention attendee died in an accident on Tuesday morning. Take care."

The only reason most people don't seem to watch it is coz it's a cartoon.. but yeah, you should give it a chance
I also don't hate any of the characters which is a quite a feat tbh but that's just me
