Re: Durham Applicants 2013 entryTotally depends on the subject; seems to more important with humanities then sciences, but I'm not 100% sure.(Original post by AmyLH)
Does anybody know how bothered Durham are with GCSEs as I've heard different stories from different people? -

Re: Durham Applicants 2013 entryI think if you've got a big improvement with your AS grades, then it's fine
I guess I'm in a similar position to you actually- my gcses are slightly higher but I then decided i majorly wanted to go to cambridge, and the verdict seems to be that if the AS grades show an increase (whereas many people's decrease), i.e. if you were to get AAAA, then it's fine. I probs won't apply for Cambridge now, but just used it for argument's sake. I love Durham!!

Re: Durham Applicants 2013 entry
Tom
History
No idea on the college. Not sure it's worth pitting my hopes on a particular college until I get my AS results.
History, English Lit, Government & Politics, Sociology (hopefully dropping) + EPQ
Definitely first choice.
I'd love to get into Durham, but these exams are grinding me down, and I may have just sacrificed my grade in English to focus an essay on an innuendo...
If I get AAAA, I will definitely apply. If I get AAAB, with decent UMS in the three that I'm taking onto A2, I will certainly consider it. I'm rather hoping the fact that I go to a rather shoddy inner-city sixth form will make up for my average (by the looks of TSR) GCSE grades. -
Re: Durham Applicants 2013 entryAhh thank you. I'm on my way to getting AAAA (got all As in Jan exams) just got to hope the summer ones go as well(Original post by anniema)
