Its actually 0.009W for 10s.

Energy must be 0.009*10=0.09J?

I just put 780J anyways lol, but that is definetly wrong, it will most certainly be 0.009 or 0.09.

I got 0.0009W for 10s?

78/(24 x 3600)
and then that x10 is 0.009J?

Was the question not just working out the pressure??

Yes, what was your answer for the question.

To find the pressure did you take the area as 0.0013 or half that since they said total surface area of coin was 0.0013.

Must be my mistake, I was using the calculator on my PC. Easy to make mistakes

I took the area as 0.0013, but forgot to multiply my end answer by 8 :frown:

EDIT: did you use half the area? If you were meant to then damn that's much too early in the paper for a trick question!

You just had to multiply weight by 8, the area must be the one for one coin, since they were stacked on the table.

I used 0.0013 as well.

I got 222 Pa from 0.288/0.0013
Reply 306
can anyone get the paper?
How many marks was that question for?

0.288 was the weight of one coin*8?
If so I got the same:biggrin:

3 marks for that part of the question

1W of Power is 1J per second being transferred. Therefore, a 78W wind turbine transfers 78J of energy per second, meaning in 10 seconds it does transfer 780J

I definitely dropped some marks on the LED question and the car question with the two forces. :P Also on the last page bottom part I think. I definitely dropped marks on the 'show over 1300 fuel cells are needed' question.

You probably get higher than you think, examiners a quite lenient so don't worry.

Makes sense, but it was a 3 mark question, and we had already stated the equation for the question above
I just don't understand why you would get 3 marks for 78x10

Physics was the paper i was most scared for simply because of the poorly worded questions and the difficulty of questions in the past but the exam went miles better than i thought it would. They tested a lot of content, but at least all the questions were understandable and "you could have a go"
