My Mum advised me when I was first old enough to wear heels to go for the second option. I had maybe a fortnight of bleeding feet, blood blisters and the like
I don't think your mum likes you.

but at the end of that time I could walk or even run miles in them and barely notice it. Ever since I've hardly ever worn flats.
I doubt you've ever done that. And if you have, you're crazy enough to also be a heroin addict, which would explain the lack of pain.

I'm only 5ft 2. My boyfriend is 6ft1/6ft 2 so any extra inches I can add to myself to get anywhere near his height is a bonus. But alas I can't walk in high heels. I do have a couple of pairs that are 3-4 inches I think, but they're wedges, so are easier to walk in.

My Mum said what she did because she didn't want me to have to go through my whole adult life being in agony every time I wore heels, or having to avoid them because of fear.

OK, I haven't literally run miles in heels, but I've done two sponsored walks in stilettos, each time getting people to sponsor me for the number of miles multipled by the height in inches of my shoes. First time, 3 inches. Second time, 5. OK, second time hurt, but it was for a good cause .
