WJEC GCSE french Reading and listening May 14 2012
    Hello all!

I was wondering what did everyone think of the WJEC GCSE French exams today?

Did anyone find the reading extremely hard? The fill in the blanks was atrocious!

I think I failed it! I marked my teachers answers against my own and got 25/40

Also what did everyone think of the listening? I thought it was okay except for in some instances where it was about someone called Damien and wind surfing!

Hopefully the grade boundaries will be low!

I agree about the reading, it was so hard. I found the last question about the baby falling out of the building incredibly hard. Listening was OK but our tape was awful as it kept crackling. Hoping I did enough to get an A overall. Hope everyone else did well!

Reading was hard, listening was OK. Are we allowed to discuss?

Listening was hard, reading was relatively easy as long as you knew the vocab.

Not sure if you can discuss this yet?

I found the reading moderately okay. The last question was a bit of a nightmare but they can't be all easy

The listening was some what harder i found, the practice listening i did (old past papers) sounded much clearer and easier. Again, few questions there were hit and miss, however it only took around 30 minutes out of a supposed 45???

Overall, definitely the hardest papers i have done in comparison to the past papers we did in class.

I must admit that fill in the gaps question was insane. The baby question was ridiculous i mean seriously what are the chances of that even happening? What did people put for what the local residents thought was a cause or something like that?

The baby question! Argh, you couldn't even guess. I put that the parents had left the child alone, no idea of it was right though.
And what was David scared of? My mind went blank, I put spiders :teehee:

Much harder than all the past papers I had done though, I hope they lower the grade boundaries

I put unemployment too! But, like you say, being scared of it is a little silly. It's like the question about Jamal and why he likes holidays by the sea. I put because he lives in the countryside as that's all I could see! Confused me so much! And that windsurfing one was tough. I heard the word glass so put something along the lines of it being adapted to ice?! What did people put for the last Vanessa Pardis question?

I thought listening was harder than reading. Couldn't do question 2 on listening completely guessed!! though my guess for one was okay haha!
I also put her dream was to marry Johnny! again a guess, but hoping I'm right now.
I think knowing the vocab really made it easier.
For the baby one I put about being left alone without paretns!!
I did the exam last year which I found harder at the time, though in class doing it again was really easy. Got an A and a B last year, A overall, so hoping to get an A*. Though I'm fine with my A!
