Thoughts on A2 Edexcel French?
Hi, I'm doing A2 french with edexcel and was just wondering if anyone else out there is too, and what your thoughts are on it?
I personally really dislike it... 280 words to write an essay on a moral issue?! a year preparing a topic for our oral and then we get 4 mins out of the 15 to talk about it?! -

I'm doing edexcel A2 too! and I find it really hard and don't really like it either, I think if we had like 500 words it would be ok. I think it's a much harder exam than people give it credit for not only is the oral only like 10 minutes but you can get marked down for all sorts of stupi things like sounding like you pre learnt material
Having said that I did enjoy the book we studied

Re: Thoughts on A2 Edexcel French?
I enjoy French but I don't like the Edexcel exam board at all. AQA is MUCH more easier. Really scared about the written exam because I seriously have no idea what to write when I see the discursive essay questions. Doesn't help that you can only access 1 past paper online.

Re: Thoughts on A2 Edexcel French?
Sorry to crash this discussion but I do Edexcel A2 (but Italian) and I agree so much with this!! I wish I could have done another exam board but they're the only one that offer it

I find RBEs the most difficult, I really don't like how they can ask you about seven different aspects of the book/play/film and you need key quotes and research for all of them! I genuinely think my brain will explode
Good luck for your exam, whenever it is!!

Re: Thoughts on A2 Edexcel French?
I did Edexcel and I really didn't like the restriction of the word count.
That said, allotting 2.5 hours for the exam is ridiculously generous seeing as you get a short, usually simple translation and only 500 words of essays....(the hardest part is being succinct)
For your research based essay quotations and proper nouns don't count though so if you have a juicy quote that expresses something relevant to the question don't be afraid to put it in. (Our teacher was not clear on this)
The oral is not too bad though that depends on your examiner/teacher. My teacher threw out some really random questions
Having said that I did enjoy the book we studied
