Re: Serious question: Anyone else not like the Beatles?
They're probably the only band who I feel deserves the success they've received. When I look at some other bands/artists who get Number 1 Singles and Albums...*shudder*
Some of their stuff is a bet meh, I'll say that. But I grew up listening to the Beatles; I love it when I come across one of their songs I haven't heard in years, and find myself singing along despite how long it's been since I last heard it
So part of the reason why I like the Beatles is nostalgia about my childhood, but I also think they were genuinely talented and came out with some amazing songs.

I feel sorry for you if you don't like these songs. -

The thread title speaks for itself. I can't really get into them, in fact I don't like them.
Anyone else? -
Re: Serious question: Anyone else not like the Beatles?
Obviously compared to today's standards they don't seem quite so cutting edge but remember everything they did at that time was new. All the songs, the charisma, the song writing and the adulation.
Every other band that has ever existed whether it be from heavy metal to grunge can trace it's roots back to the Beatles.
You don't have to like them but you have to respect and acknowledge their legacy.
Although fyi their 20 best songs beat every other bands 20 best songs by a mile. -
Re: Serious question: Anyone else not like the Beatles?
I'm not particularly fond of them.
Someone actually explained to me the other day why they're regarded as a huge musical influence (most people give out the horribly incorrect "they invented rock music" as an answer. It's not. It's apparently something to do with the organisation of the song (they were the first band to use a bridge, or some **** like that, Idk).
Either way, I like maybe two songs, and that's just from the White album. -
Re: Serious question: Anyone else not like the Beatles?
Is it even possible to dislike this?

I think because our generation didn't experience the 60's, some of them find it difficult to appreciate The Beatles, but when you look at the massive influence they've had on music and how innovative they were for their time you have to at least respect that they were/are very talented artists.
Saw Paul McCartney live last year, so so good!

Re: Serious question: Anyone else not like the Beatles?
They were good.... for the previous generations, probably because they could relate and that was the music of their time. Future generations won't like the music we have today in the 21st century, and the past generations don't either.
I don't like the Beetles. -

Re: Serious question: Anyone else not like the Beatles? Not too keen on them myself.
The music isn't that great, but that's not why they're as big as they are - they've got this long-lasting legacy due to the influence they made on modern music, much like, for instance, The Clash. -
Re: Serious question: Anyone else not like the Beatles?
Serious answer: Are you mad? The Beatles are awesome. Their music is so varied that there's pretty much something in there for everyone from the downright bizarre; A Day in the Life, I Am the Walrus, to something as beautiful as While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Have a listen to the lyrics!
They're fab!
Though having said that, one man's meat is another man's poison.
