HOW and why did I mess up so bad?
Too as bottom of it is, I got asked to cover a paper round for a week, it's about 25 papers per day, I have only been doing it 2 days and I made loads of mistakes.
First mistake: Wrong houses delivered to.
Second: Wrong papers to houses.
Third: Missing houses out on the list.
I mean, I'm 14, how the **** do I make so many mistakes? I now have to walk it tomorrow with the papershop owner :\ Awkward silence I'm thinking.
So how can I do it so I don't completely c**k up!
Thanks, extremely, extremely embarrassed..Last edited by Sazzy890; 14-05-2012 at 20:11. -

Re: HOW and why did I mess up so bad?
Things like this happen.
last summer I had about 800 - 900 magazines to deliver each week. They went to every house in a given area, but the roads I had were a nightmare. They were soo twisty and windy with houses on paths coming off all over the place that you could get to from several other roads
I sware I missed hosues out each week and gave other houses two sometimes! What I tried to do was only push them through the letterbox partially. Some would fall through if the hole was loose and some people would pull them through themselves. BUT many were still there when I'd arrived at the same round from a different angle, meaning I could see if I'd done a row or not
And I might add that I was 17 last summer when this happened! My boss did randomly ring people in my area to see if I'd delivered them. She never said anything to me, so I assume that I never missd out the houses she contacted, maybe I was just lucky.Last edited by Clare~Bear; 14-05-2012 at 20:25. -
Re: HOW and why did I mess up so bad?I tried this with mine, but it didn't work. Soo many of the houses are up footpaths that connect roads that they're not on it and it's often not even clear from the birdseye view which side the front door is on!(Original post by noodles!)
Google Street View is your friend. Look through the route multiple times and familiarise yourself. -
Re: HOW and why did I mess up so bad?
Did the shop owner show you/get someone to show you round on the first day you were covering it? If you're asked to cover any more rounds in the future, this would be a good idea
I still cover the odd paper round from time to time and miss out a house or something, it's no big deal
also if you have a list of the houses and papers with you tick them off as you go along

Re: HOW and why did I mess up so bad?He did offer but because I'm such an utter tit, I said no. The worst thing is, it's the roads behind my house :\(Original post by Rhi93)
