Re: Aqa Accounts Unit 1 15th MayYeah thats true, good luck tomorrow(Original post by Shawneel)
Does can someone confirm this for me?
A bad debt is taken away from trade receivables (debtors) in the balance sheet?
Is this true?

Thank you so much =)Your welcome!(Original post by Shawneel)
Thanks
Yes this is true! If you need to write off a bad debt it will be charged as an expense in the income statement (Dr entry) and it will reduce the total of trade receivables (Cr entry)(Original post by Shawneel)

However, if the bad debit has already been written off (a debit entry in the trial balance) you only need to include it under expenses. You DO NOT have to reduce your trade receivables. -

its only rough i cant really remember to be honest!(Original post by Czaragoza)
wow that is completely off of what i got Gl3nn
what did people do with regards to the acrrual and prepayment? -
Re: Aqa Accounts Unit 1 15th May
My balance sheet balanced at 59990.
I took away 660 for the prepayment, no accruals for me.
I think the adjustment that looked like an accrual was actually just to trick you, because I didn't enter it at all because it said something like "payment for the 6 months ending 30 September was not entered" and if the balance sheet is for the 31 April, it shouldn't have been entered anyway? I dunno. Mine balanced though so I'm assuming it was okay. D:Last edited by yayifications; 15-05-2012 at 14:30. Reason: Wrong figure lol oops. -
Re: Aqa Accounts Unit 1 15th May
There is accruals in the paper i done it.. it says accruals for the 6 months so therefore 5 months has not been paid yet because of the amount given in the paper times by 5 and then divide by 6 to get the amount of accruals. i got 29010 for the net profit and 60440 for the BC and balanced
