Well wearing sunglasses saves you squinting, which in the long run might stop wrinkles appearing around the eyes.So they are good for that.

I've also seen men wearing those bug eyed sunglasses...not a good look on some of them.

i don't wear sunglasses to look like celebrities
i wear them to keep sun out my eyes and cover half of my face as i don't wear make up in the sun!
    helps a lot.

It's obvious that I'm not a girl by the blue sign next to my name, but I wear sunglasses a lot of the time because I have to, which is kind of ironic because my eyes theoretically should be better for the sun than people say with blue or green eyes

Is it the wearing of sunglasses on the top of the head which bothers you, or the general wearing of sunglasses at the first sight of sun?
Its the wanting to look like a celebrity "me me me" attitude

Everyone keeps mentioning sun and squinting- I am talking about on a cloudy "normal" British day (ie not a sunny day).

Man, we can't even wear sunglasses anymore. I'm sick of people questioning us all the time and suggesting anyone who doesn't just wear a t-shirt and jeans is a mind numb Kim Kardashian wannabe dailymail reader.

I wear Sunglasses when it's sunny. Firstly because my eyes are super sensetive for some reason and light gives a headache sometimes, secondly because summer=hayfever. But most of all, I like them. Feels awesome, I can stare at people :ninja: and people can't read my expression/emotions through my eyes. And I often wear them on overcast days in summer because the sun is still strong and you get that bright white light from the clouds which is more headache inducing than golden sunlight. Stop being so critical.

Because it's sunny and you don't have sunglasses so then you go into town and buy some. As soon as you've done that it turns cloudy and rains for weeks. You get used to this so stop taking the sunglasses out with you and then it turns sunny again and you don't have your sunglasses once again. In the end it's just easier to carry them round with you in Spring and Summer so when you need them they're there. If you don't want to buy a case you just wear them on your head.

No its because you all copy this:

which is also why every girl now walks around with their HANDbag on their WRIST, 90 degrees out to their body because they want to look like a WAG (no idea why, surely they'd pick someone with more class???).

my eyes are really sensative to the sun, i wear them when driving even when it isn't sunny, when the clouds are bright etc. because it's safe and prevents pain. unless it's proper sunny i just suffer the pain and squint because i think you look like a moron wearing sunglasses if it isn't sunny.

but who cares? wear whatever the **** you want... i think it looks stupid though when people have sunglasses on their head like a headband, they don't wear them over their eyes even outside in the bright sun, or they wear them like that when it's raining.

Lol I don't even know where to begin with that response.

People have been wearing sunglasses on their heads long before now. I remember my Mum and Dad doing it when we went on holidays in Wales from the age of 5 maybe earlier and we have old family photos of even my Nanna doing it when she was younger. It's easier and convienient - it's like tying your jacket round your waist to save carrying it around

'You' all copy this? I have a case because I have prescription sunglasses so don't actually walk round with them on my head most of the time, but I did used to before I got prescription ones and didn't have a case.

All girls? You think these girls look like they're trying to look like WAGs?

    Spoiler:
    Show

Even those who do dress similar to WAGs aren't all copying them, they're just picking out clothes they like. Should girls check what WAGs are wearing and then avoid those clothes just because WAGs wear them?

What if I asked why do all boys walk round with their trousers half-way down trying to be a 'gangsta'?

What does 'walking around with their handbag on their write' even mean?

Having 'class' is a behavioural thing. So WAGs having no class is a reason not to act like them but if you still think they look nice or even some of the stuff they wear is nice then there's no reason not to wear what they wear. Like I said should people avoid certain items of clothing they like just because WAGs wear it?

The sunglasses thing doesn't bother me whatsoever.

Although, the hand bag on the wrist thing is just silly.

Yeah really does my head in how some girls act like a WAG when they wear sunglasses. A lot of the time they're nowhere near as fit. Stop hiding your ugliness, its very deceiving!

You really havent understood a word I have said, have you?

I did not ask why are girls wearing sunglasses on their head. I did not even mention their head.

I asked why are they wearing sunglasses, massive ones, when there is no sun. The answer is because they want to copy their WAG idols in the Femail section and feel "special".

"me me me me me" culture and I hate it

Because we don't have a magical ability to know how sunny it's going to be for the rest of the day before we leave the house. So we make the logical decision of taking them anyway because what's the harm and it's the time of year when there's likely to be some sun. It's hardly a snow storm in December right now. And before you say it yes you can check the weather forecast but firstly that isn't always accurate and secondly that doesn't tell you the exact brightness or if you're going to get a migraine and therefore be more susceptible to just normal daylight etc.

If you're so convinced that all girls wear sunglasses when it's cloudy and the reason they all do this is because they want to copy WAGs why ask the question? You clearly already think you know the answer.

But just as a sidenote even girls who do it purely to copy WAGs can be doing it because they think whichever WAG(s) they saw doing it looked nice and they also want to look nice - it doesn't mean they have a 'me me me' attitude. Again you're mixing behaviours with appearances.

Also, re-read your OP, first line:
"Can someone please explain why at the first sign of no rain every single girl is walking around with sunglasses on her head."

Do you take an umbrella out with you, as often as sunglasses?
