Re: Can I claim Jobseekers?Absolute rubbish. They will interview a variety of people and make a judgement on how strong their work ethic is - they don't just assume someone with an ethnic name is going to be a brilliant worker...(Original post by Quentin2a)
You are an ethnic. They love ethnics in these big stores. There is a steroetype that they are good workers.
Stores targeting ethnic minorities, gay people, women etc. to fill mythical quotas are just that, myths, largely spread by bigots who want to see those groups put as a disadvantage to everyone else. -

What do you mean foundation courses are free of charge? I've never heard about this and I'm applying for one next year (I'm 17, and UK/Home student).
Can you please get into more details?
Hi if you are under 19 and UK you may be able to get onto a Foundation Diploma course free I don't know what other subjects there are but I do a foundation diploma in art and design - its a one year course - sometimes known as year zero in some degree courses and something you do before advancing onto a foundation degree or degree course, its not a foundation degree though its further education, I did a levels before I did this though. Some colleges/sixth forms do my course but again I don't know about other subjects, its more of a prepatory course for degrees. -
Re: Can I claim Jobseekers?
I think people have to reckognise the two stages to getting a job offer.
1) Getting an interview - Primarily based on location and prior experience, i have no sympathy for people who do not look for work in the city and choose not to work a day before graduating
2) Getting the job after an interview - this is simply a case of practice makes perfect
Now i realise that the Leeds economy seems to be a bit more buoyant than a lot of other places but i have never taken more than a month to get an interview and have a fairly high success rate.
