Re: Ocr june 2012 15th may twenty first century science 2012
for Russian flu i put less population 100 years before 1918 and the Russian flu was less infectious
For nitrogen cycle i put decomposers
And for the NICE question i put
Benefits outweight costs
How effective is the drug
Is it worth a person's life
Would it treat more people than it would give the dangerous side effec to
Do you think they are the right answers?? -
Re: Ocr june 2012 15th may twenty first century science 2012
the family members one was a horrible question
wasn't sure what to put so i just scrawled down a few names. the NICE stuff was also a bit weird as i didn't know a lot about the licensing of drugs
hardly anything on B3 and too much of that ethics rubbish. it went much better than my mock though. also the mark schemes are really low for this exam, for our mock 32/60 was an A and chemistry was 28/60 for an A!

Re: Ocr june 2012 15th may twenty first century science 2012
Well I would imagine the grade boundaries between the mocks and those doing double science would be similar (although don't take my word for it, I'm just echoing what I was told by my teacher). They're weird exams, not a lot of knowledge needed a lot of the time, much more about "risks" and "ethics" and why scientists do what they do. Would prefer they asked more of our actual knowledge and understanding of the processes of life (surely that is why we study Biology???)

Re: Ocr june 2012 15th may twenty first century science 2012I'll dare say - waste of time (nothing of B3 remotely even came up!!!!)(Original post by Jordan Barker)
