    1) For 'What musical device is used by the bassoons and horns' in the Mozart question, I'm pretty sure the answer is 'pedal' or 'sustained notes' and not imitation.
    2) For minimalist techniques, I'm pretty sure metrical displacement appears in E.Counterpoint too.
    3) For the 'features of a lament' - I'm quite sure vocables doesn't count, as that is more to do with waulking songs than laments. However, 'falling melodic line' is correct too (I'm pretty certain about this).
    4) Differences between alap and gat - the gat is precomposed, whilst the alap is improvised (an additional answer).

The gat also has a regular sense of pulse; whereas the alap has no sense of pulse and it is meditative.

About the musical device are you sure its imitation, cos i thought it was between sequence or pedal?
And you spelt syllables wrong lol
And for the chopin differences i put there is more of a chordal texture in the 2nd section, would that be a mark?

I'm pretty sure it was pedal too. For the Chopin, I'm sure you'll get a mark for that, because it is in the Edexcel Set works book.

Are you sure? I did a practise listening and the correct answer came up as Esraj! Urgh I was going to put Tanpura as well :/
I did exactly the same thing! We listened to that version a few days before the exam and my teacher told us that it was DEFINITELY esraj and that tanpura would be wrong! If I get that wrong I'm going to be really annoyed..

I seem to have no recoverable memory of this question whatsoever, can't even remember my answer. I'll go by the majority though...

    For chopin

    Similarities: played by piano
    Time signature

Differences: melody played in left hand
Sustained quavers in the right hand?
