I thought it was a fairly bog standard FP1 paper. I doubt the boundaries will be very much different from last summer.




This thread will be locked at somepoint and then unlocked at midnight following the Mechanics 1 examination. I will upload the paper and my solutions to this post.

Was quite a nice paper, I thought. Though I forgot that I skipped the lambda question until about 3 minutes before we were supposed to finish and right when I realised how to do it and went to start answering in "Maths, please put down your pens."

I have a feeling I got 74/75. I might have dropped a mark on the summing a series question, because I didn't actually show the substitution happening. I heard they are very picky about that, which is a shame.

I thought the paper was one of the trickier ones but I came out happy. Interested to see the grade boundaries though, the proof was divisibility which tends to be considered more difficult and the lambda question is liable to catch a fair few people out.

To be honest, I've noticed for FP1, Edexcel can't really come up with a hard paper. Hence, why 100 UMS has consistently been 75/75 over the last few years. I thought the paper went well, but I certainly don't want the grade boundaries to be like in January! Good luck everyone on their exams and this exam was my last exam!
