can someone guide me through part (a) ii of this question please. I just can't seem to understand it at all.

For a Normal Distribution, 99% of the distribution lie within the limits Mu +/- 3 times sigma.
Also 95% of the distribution lie within the limits Mu +/- 1.96 times sigma.

So perhaps one of these limits is more than 60000, which would make the normal distribution unsuitable.
