Re: OCR GCSE ETHICS EXAMS 1 AND 2 B603/04 Post- Exam Discussion (15th May 2012)See I found paper 2 easier than paper 1!(Original post by gayboy1231231)
Paper 2 was very hard, does anyone know the grade boundaries? also are the boundaries based on national average? -
Re: OCR GCSE ETHICS EXAMS 1 AND 2 B603/04 Post- Exam Discussion (15th May 2012)(Original post by No brainer1)
Yeah did any of u do equality?
if so did u find 8c hard? the one were it said to specify the way christianity challenges inequality...
WHAT IS INEQUALITY AND HOW IS IT CHALLENGED BY CHRISTIANITY!?!?!?!
That was easy:(Original post by No brainer1)
The one u cant remember is the one im going on about.... how does Christianity challenge inequality...
THAT QUESTION WAS SOO CONFUSING!!
Peaceful protests against perceived examples of institutional inequality.
Attempts to persuade people that inequality is wrong through persuasion and use of the scriptures.
The use of education and positive examples to teach of inequality (Work of Martin Luther King Jr on racial inequality)
There was a past paper about the same thing but with racism. Just had to use that but replace racism with inequality! -
Re: OCR GCSE ETHICS EXAMS 1 AND 2 B603/04 Post- Exam Discussion (15th May 2012)Your second one is right. Don't know abotu the first one. Look at my other response for the correct answers. There was a past paper question bout this but on racism instead of inequality and you just had to repeat those answers but with inequality rather than racism!(Original post by CameronO)
for the question 'how can a Christian help to solve inequality?' I put;
They can donate money to charitable organisations. They can volunteer their time and effort to help others. They can partake in peaceful protest against elitist governments or organisations, or corrupt regimes. -
Re: OCR GCSE ETHICS EXAMS 1 AND 2 B603/04 Post- Exam Discussion (15th May 2012)Look at my previous post for the answer. You need to say a bit more like peaceful protest AGAINST PERCEIVED EXAMPLES OF INSTITUTIONAL INEQUALITY. USE OF POSITIVE EXAMPLES AND EDUCATION SO work of martin luther king jr ON RACIAL INEQUALITY.(Original post by metaltron)
I'm sure a similar question has come up before
I'll try to find it but I put:
Peaceful protest
Civil disobedience
Martin Luther King Jr.
I dont know bout civil disobedience (believe that is incorrect) -
Re: OCR GCSE ETHICS EXAMS 1 AND 2 B603/04 Post- Exam Discussion (15th May 2012)Yeah, donating time/money is correct(Original post by GreenLantern1)

Re: OCR GCSE ETHICS EXAMS 1 AND 2 B603/04 Post- Exam Discussion (15th May 2012)That is wrong. That is social injustice which is quite different to inequality. Plus yours is from the wrong section so obvously irrelevant. Here is the markscheme answer but replace racism with inequality:(Original post by metaltron)
Yes, here it is: (june 11 Q2c)

Re: OCR GCSE ETHICS EXAMS 1 AND 2 B603/04 Post- Exam Discussion (15th May 2012)You say it's on a previous paper when I had already attached the mark scheme for that... and those answers are all correct.(Original post by GreenLantern1)
Look at my previous post for the answer. You need to say a bit more like peaceful protest AGAINST PERCEIVED EXAMPLES OF INSTITUTIONAL INEQUALITY. USE OF POSITIVE EXAMPLES AND EDUCATION SO work of martin luther king jr ON RACIAL INEQUALITY.

Re: OCR GCSE ETHICS EXAMS 1 AND 2 B603/04 Post- Exam Discussion (15th May 2012)3 mark questions don't require as much detail as your making out(Original post by GreenLantern1)

Re: OCR GCSE ETHICS EXAMS 1 AND 2 B603/04 Post- Exam Discussion (15th May 2012)Well I'd say social injustice (the unfair treatment of people in a society) is closer to inequality that racism, which is a type of inequality.(Original post by GreenLantern1)

I'd say both sets of answers would all be correct.Last edited by metaltron; 15-05-2012 at 17:04. -
Re: OCR GCSE ETHICS EXAMS 1 AND 2 B603/04 Post- Exam Discussion (15th May 2012)I did first 2 sections on 1st paper. Last 2 on second paper.(Original post by mrk.lgn)
Anyone else do the first 2 sections on both papers?
You might get it, but it definitely isn't a typical mark scheme answer!(Original post by mrk.lgn)
Yeah, donating time/money is correct
No you were on a different past paper. that question is from a completely different section!!!!! And it is about social injustice; very different to inequality.(Original post by metaltron)
You say it's on a previous paper when I had already attached the mark scheme for that... and those answers are all correct.
It is on a past paper in the same SECTION!! And then the same question but you just had to change racism to inequality!!!!! -
Re: OCR GCSE ETHICS EXAMS 1 AND 2 B603/04 Post- Exam Discussion (15th May 2012)They don't require much detail at all. But the amount you give is no way near enough. You basically just need a line per point; not much at all. You gave barely a line. Just look at the markscheme answers my friend. I did the philosophy papers in year 11 and got full marks; I know what is needed!(Original post by mrk.lgn)
3 mark questions don't require as much detail as your making out -
Re: OCR GCSE ETHICS EXAMS 1 AND 2 B603/04 Post- Exam Discussion (15th May 2012)Ok, how about the argument that the question is slightly different. Your one is work to stop racism instead of respond to. Responding to is completely different to working against, so I doubt education would be as clear-cut an answer.(Original post by GreenLantern1)

And explain to me how inequality is not a social injustice. -
Re: OCR GCSE ETHICS EXAMS 1 AND 2 B603/04 Post- Exam Discussion (15th May 2012)No it really isn't! To challenge racism is to challenge an equality (but a specific type) so as long as it would work for all types of inequality which it would.(Original post by metaltron)
Well I'd say social injustice (the unfair treatment of people in a society) is closer to inequality that racism, which is a type of inequality.
I'd say both sets of answers would all be correct.
So racism is definitely correct answers and a lot closer.
The fact that your answer is from a completely different section just proves that it isn't correct! -
Re: OCR GCSE ETHICS EXAMS 1 AND 2 B603/04 Post- Exam Discussion (15th May 2012)Tbh the two SECTIONS are blurred in my opinion(Original post by GreenLantern1)

Re: OCR GCSE ETHICS EXAMS 1 AND 2 B603/04 Post- Exam Discussion (15th May 2012)My one was work against and the exam one was challenge (not respond to!). And so it is pretty much the same question!(Original post by metaltron)
Ok, how about the argument that the question is slightly different. Your one is work to stop racism instead of respond to. Responding to is completely different to working against, so I doubt education would be as clear-cut an answer.
And explain to me how inequality is not a social injustice.
Social injustice is claimed unfairness or injustice of a society in its divisions of rewards and burdens (actual definition)
That definiton shows you how inequality is not an example of social injustice!!!
I am not going to bother arguing with you anymore. I have got all 3 marks and you have 1 maybe 2 at best. There is no reason for me to worry. obviously you should and it is only natural since you have got the wrong end of the stick of the question and lost a lot of easy marks. Don't worry I am sure you still got a decent grade

that was sooo hard!! i wrote about peaceful protests and boycotts- like martin luther king, probably wrong :/
did anyone do the social injustice d part though, i found it hard
