Pornography has been around for as long as art has. Yes those who are severely addicted to it do deserve help but almost everyone grows out of this phase. The fact that religious/ cultural values have meant that talking about sex openly and honestly is very rarely possible is a much bigger problem.

Like lou said, porn has been around since we first started painting pictures. It'll also never go away (ahem Jesus to that). I also don't think it really counts as an addiction unless his life is getting sapped away at it. I think it's best to think of it like MMO's most people who play (or fap) aren't addicts. It's a daily release to get some stress of your chest (you may need a wet wipe to get the other stuff off your chest mind). Now if that daily release becomes 12+ hours a day where they give up seeing friends, going on holiday etc. That is an addiction.

Anything's bad if not in moderation or not moderated. The problem is that access to porn, and some pretty nasty porn, is easily available 24/7 so it encourages addiction to the cheap thrill, and, of course, kids will look for more extreme things in order to keep that dopamine high coming as they get desensitized to what they were watching in the first place.

I don't often side with conservatives, but I do have a puritanical streak, and, whilst I don't profess to be immune to the pleasures of the flesh, I do think that there is a debate worth having here. Sex can be lots of fun, and I'm all for sex education for young kids and don't really have any problems with teenagers experimenting (that's the great thing about being a teenager, right?), but when you're constantly watching "bitches", "sluts" and "ghetto hoes" having their pussies "destroyed" and their faces "pounded", "exploited teens" being paid to **** fat hairy cavemen or skinny old grandads etc., one does have to wonder about potential pernicious effects.

As you can no doubt tell from my knowledge of the genre, I do watch porn, but not as often as I used to and I try now to watch things like Abby Winters, which is really hot and just as stimulating but doesn't leave so much of a bad aftertaste.
