Re: My friend who I think doesn't have a gender!no but i've never heard of anyone being neutral?!(Original post by Psyk)
Yes. But you acknowledge he is a man, so he does have a gender. You mean sexuality, and it's perfectly possible he is asexual. It's also perfectly possible he's not. What's the big deal? -
Re: My friend who I think doesn't have a gender!Well I know what "man" he is talking about. When a "man" (who dresses like a man) assumes to be your friend you should be conscious of his sex (what if he is female dressing up to be male). But you cannot just go and ask or see if he has a penis or not. So the only way is to check out his behavior. But the person who NilFBosh is talking about doesn't behave like a male or female. He can be asexual, but then we will have to call him female because females only produce offspring not male. "He" doesn't accept being called a female but his behavior contradicts his words.(Original post by Psyk)

Unfortunately there is no word, which is the exact opposite of a girl who dresses like a boy and behaves like one, a "tomboy". When you call a girl a "tomboy" you are not passing any judgment on her. When a boy begins to behave like a girl, he is laughed at. He is universally condemned. A word that is commonly used to describe such a person is "sissy". When you call a boy a "sissy", you are implying he lacks the qualities, which you would associate with the male of the species. The word "sissy", unlike the word "tomboy", has a negative connation. Most people would say that it is okay for a young girl to behave like a boy, but it's not okay for a boy, no matter how young, to behave like a girl. Such a boy is looked down upon by society. -
Re: My friend who I think doesn't have a gender! What are you on about? Why would it make him female if he were asexual? Him not being interested in men or women doesn't mean he's capable of giving birth.(Original post by StUdEnTIGCSE)

What about his behaviour is feminine? And if his behaviour is feminine, and what you're suggesting is true, wouldn't that make "him" female not genderless? -
Re: My friend who I think doesn't have a gender!
Someone's gender is whether they are male or female. You've said they're a boy. That means their gender is male. Which means you've contradicted yourself.
If you're referring to their disinterest in both male and females, then it's called asexuality (read http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct...QYose4q3VGoElw).
They're not an alien, although I do presume that was a joke.
Idle curiousity - do you feel somewhat confused by the fact they don't "like boys or girls"? Because, it's not something they're necessarily in control of and it's definitely not something that's to be ashamed of, or mocked. It's not different from a person being homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual etc.
The fact that you suggest they're refusing to watch kissing scenes probably just suggests that they're afriad/shy about that kind of thing. Which is also perfectly okay.
But they do have a gender - and you've acknolwedged this yourself in your own posts. -
Re: My friend who I think doesn't have a gender!whats with the IT in ur post!? I dunno but i'm really confused...!!(Original post by StUdEnTIGCSE)
Nilosh it has a gender. Sometime it is called a boy sometimes a girl. Therefore when two genders are present they suppress each other. End result is a "boy" with no gender. (It is called a boy because it dresses like a boy) -

Re: My friend who I think doesn't have a gender! The pronoun for a male is 'he' and for a female its 'she'. StudentIGCSE is probably referring to an inbetween hence the pronoun 'it'. Not sure though.(Original post by NilFBosh)

"Yoshe-pron. (used as the subject of a verb) - a person or an animal who is neither male nor female that has been already identified" -
