Anyone with experience living in flats in their second year?
I've signed a contract for a flat with a friend on my course that I'll be moving into in my second year. It's a terraced house that has been converted into three flats, each with it's own floor.

Apparently there will be three people living in the flat below us, and two people in the flat below that. I was wondering, have people who have lived somewhere like this made friends with the people living in the other flats, and was it easy?

    Cheers

Are they completely separate flats or are they semi-open? It's going to depend on the people involved really and if you make the effort then there's no reason why you can't get on with everybody. However, you will likely find that the temptation will be to stick to your flats, unless you know the people in the other flats already.

Maybe you could go around, introduce yourself and invite them to a housewarming party? It's the best way to get acquainted with your new neighbours, and it makes any problems (e.g. noise) easier to sort out if you already know them

Each flat has it's own floor, so I'm not sure if it is semi-open.

And yeah good idea OB, might try and get a party sorted.
