Re: Transport PetitionBy your logic then, anyone who is not an expert in their field shouldn't be in any kind of role. We wouldn't get very far would we?(Original post by Morgsie)
Some understanding of Transport is required which your Colleague lacks. -
Re: Transport PetitionI am not saying that. People should learn on the job.(Original post by toronto353)

Your colleague fails to demonstrate knowledge, he has been making comment which are lame etc.
I am not having a go, I am pointing this out. Other people have also noticed your colleague's incompetence. -
Re: Transport PetitionWell you are really. You are having a go at him really. I have full confidence in my colleague.(Original post by Morgsie)

Re: Transport PetitionOh là là, he did do things, sure they may not of been to your tastes but to say nothing happened is a slanderous lie!(Original post by Morgsie)
At least I did something, research and planned XYZ which never was implemented due to the withdrawal from the Coalition. I have taken what I have started and it is being worked upon by the Party.
Compared to the former Transport Secretary who did nothing. -
Re: Transport PetitionReally, this and Liveries motion are the only Transport matters this term so far.(Original post by tehFrance)
Oh là là, he did do things, sure they may not of been to your tastes but to say nothing happened is a slanderous lie!

Re: Transport PetitionNo but the majority of the time should be dedicated to Transport. Which he did not do, he was concentrating on other things like the rename the country Bill.(Original post by tehFrance)

Re: Transport PetitionOh why must you take this so seriously? it is a damn game.(Original post by Morgsie)
No but the majority of the time should be dedicated to Transport. Which he did not do, he was concentrating on other things like the rename the country Bill.
Don't go bursting a blood vessel over it. -
Re: Transport PetitionJust so you know, he's resigned as Transport Secretary, he's now a back bench MP.(Original post by Morgsie)
No but the majority of the time should be dedicated to Transport. Which he did not do, he was concentrating on other things like the rename the country Bill. -
Re: Transport Petition
In defense of Internetguru he has actually put many ideas forward to the government and is certainly a very creative MP. Unfortunately, he felt that his views on rail were not compatible with the governments stance and as such i will be covering the role for now.
You requested that i continue the debate?(Original post by Rory)

Re: Transport PetitionWhilst the design is better (though i would want a connection to Wales as well) i think that with the timescale involved for completion we should be going as fast as HS2 though the cost incurred would probably mean that High speed north (with a Welsh extention) would be a better option and something to be considered.(Original post by JPKC)
I support the specifics of this petition, though mainly because I favour High Speed North over HS2. It'd be a more effective alternative, I reckon. -
Re: Transport PetitionAs a matter of interest, why are you becomming the transport secretary yourself when you are already prime minister? It just seems that it might have been better to give the job to a Conservative MP who dosen't really have a proper role at the moment (maybe even given it to Jacob W; its certainly more important than culture sec.)(Original post by Rakas21)

Also, what is the government's actual stance on transport (as opposed to the previous transport sec's views)?Last edited by stanlas; 17-05-2012 at 21:49.
