Any tips for getting a LEvel 4 Answer no matter what happens / if the sources are rubbish ?? Any phrases that get great credit from markers... ??????

Think the january 2012 was on Henry's foreign policy and Amicable Grant - Although i don't know what the actual questions were so that could of been tied into Wolsey's downfall. I think it will be on opposition to Henry after the dissolution or the fall of Cromwell. For section B there isn't too much knowledge for Cromwells fall which could be quite simple to apply the right knowledge.

I'd agree, and I suppose it's beneficiary to all of us as they are two of the most recent things (if everyone was taught chronologically) we've learnt. The fall of Cromwell is a little dry on own knowledge, especially from the Edexcel issue textbook, but I quite like the question.

Hey well for the A questions it's just all sources remember, no knowledge at all cos they won't mark you for that. (Apart from contextual knowledge, such as who the source is written by and if it would be a bias source etc.) And my teacher told me NOT to go through it source by source picking out what the question asks for, but finding all things that agree with the question (for example) and then all the things that don't agree. And always cross reference with the other sources. And in your conclusion mention the sources again (just to wrap it up nicely.)

The B style questions (40 markers) are harder for me :/ I never seem to do very well in these. Go through the sources the same way you would for the A questions (finding things that agree first, then the things that disagree afterwards.) But remember knowledge is essential. So, get a point from the source, then back it up with your knowledge. And the use of sources and knowledge has to be nicely balanced.

That's quite a long answer I know. :P I hope it's helpful enough though! I think it makes sense haha. But I don't get A's! Good luck for tomorrow!

I believe the break with Rome may come up. Things to include would be:
reasons why it happened:
divorce, (love of anne bolyne)
need for an heir, (catherine was barren)
leviticus (but pope wouldn't grant divorce),
power and money (Act of supremacy and dissolution of monasteries can be used as evidence).
Remember all the acts as well: 1532: Act of Annates (money)
1533: Act in Restraint of Appeals (can't appeal to rome)
1534: Act of succession, Act of supremacy, Treason Act, Act of submission of the clergy and Act of 1st fruit and 10ths

I've done the last two papers and have struggled. I'm doing A2 and have got As in both the other exam and the coursework but can't seem to do any better on this.

The Amicable grant came up on january;
Section A
How far do the sources suggest that there was considerable resistance to the Amicable Grant of 1525?

Section B
i) Do you agree with the view that, in the years 1511-1525, English successes in foreign policy outweighed the failures?

ii) Do you agree with the view that the dissolution of the greater monasteries was largely driven by finacial motives?

It is possible cromwell will come up too. The thing i have learnt doing A2 is the sources MUST drive the answer. Own Knowledge is great but you must quote the sources and integrate them to do well.

I think the Boer war might come up but there will probably be a WW1 question - hopefully the impact of it but I'm not sure :/

Bet on Boerw ar ahsnt come up in the past 2 papers i have a feeling it going to be a paper on all 3 wars or boer as A and 2 on ww1 or A Boer and one on boer and one on first though i want crieman and Boer.
