They've got 18 and we've got 22 so there's ten left and the Speaker doesn't count as an MP.
    Don't you mean we've got 22 and you've got 18? :P

Speaker and deputy, Indievertigo, rockrunride, stricof, WhatTheFunk, Big Bang Theory, Cambo211 and Wednesday Bass are whom I've counted so far. Not sure if there is anyone else.
    Stricof joined the Republicans.

The referendum will be held in about a week. Individually, every Socialist has decided to support the Republican cause, but as a party they have no official line as they have no whip.

Although it should be noted, if I call correctly, that abolishment of the monarchy was one of the socialists manifesto points. (or at least one of their policies).

What's your view on the monarchy then?
Politically I'm edging towards socialism and believe that it's better to have a state owned UK, but sometimes they seem a little too extreme, sime suggest we get rid of money?! Labour is too right nowadays in my opinion.

I think the Monarchy is great for the UK:
I don't understand why people dislike it:
    • Britain makes £200 million pounds from the monarchs, and only costs 40 million to actually have them
    • The government get all the monarchs land so we're actual richer
    • It encourages tourism therefore money is spent elsewhere like in Bars and Restaurants as tourists come to England. So it's not just monarchy related profits
    • It brings pride to our nation
    • It costs less than a £1 per person in the country
    • And no if we got rid of the Monarchy it wouldn't be as popular. It's exciting to think we have our very own living monarchy in London, if they died out hundreds of years we'd get some tourism but we'd make less.
I dont see any viable reason to dislike it. Seems like ignorant people just saying "eurgh they're spending our money".

I like the arguments and I'll add you to the campaign list. Welcome aboard! Researching and looking for arguments for the monarchy is the stage we're at now.
