Re: Monarchy - YES campaign roll callDon't you mean we've got 22 and you've got 18? :P(Original post by toronto353)
They've got 18 and we've got 22 so there's ten left and the Speaker doesn't count as an MP.

Re: Monarchy - YES campaign roll callIt still comes to 40.(Original post by TopHat)

Re: Monarchy - YES campaign roll callPolitically I'm edging towards socialism and believe that it's better to have a state owned UK, but sometimes they seem a little too extreme, sime suggest we get rid of money?! Labour is too right nowadays in my opinion.
I think the Monarchy is great for the UK:
I don't understand why people dislike it:- Britain makes £200 million pounds from the monarchs, and only costs 40 million to actually have them
- The government get all the monarchs land so we're actual richer
- It encourages tourism therefore money is spent elsewhere like in Bars and Restaurants as tourists come to England. So it's not just monarchy related profits
- It brings pride to our nation
- It costs less than a £1 per person in the country
- And no if we got rid of the Monarchy it wouldn't be as popular. It's exciting to think we have our very own living monarchy in London, if they died out hundreds of years we'd get some tourism but we'd make less.

Researching and looking for arguments for the monarchy is the stage we're at now.
