Re: Frenchay Accomodation- Caroll CourtYeah I know what you mean it was soo much more expensive! And lots of people I have spoken to have said 'i really dont want to share a bathroom' etc but tbh, we share a bathroom with our family atm so its not a big deal? :L(Original post by Dom385)
I put caroll court down for my first choice too. Mostly because I didn't really fancy paying another thousand (at least) just to have an en-suite... -
Re: Frenchay Accomodation- Caroll CourtIt is, because you know your family and their habits..whereas you don't know those of the person that will be living with you. Maybe he/she doesn't flush or leaves hair in the tub ( bad example, but you get my point), and it's much more disgusting than if it were a family member (who probably doesn't do that).(Original post by Sophie94)

Anyway,I'm assuming no one who shares a bathroom will do nasty stuff, but it's best for you to have your own bathroom, that's my opinion.
I was planning on staying on Carrol Court too, but my course moved to Bower Ashton,so I can't

Re: Frenchay Accomodation- Caroll Courtyeah I understand but hopefully by the age of 18 people will understand the concept of hygiene. And yeah it would be nice for everyone to have their own bathroom but when its £1000 more it's hard to afford. Oh that's weird that it moved, what course?(Original post by madison24)

Yes, money really makes a difference in this case

Journalism and PR and I'm really bummed and I don't know where to live now, because I haven't heard good things about Marketgate :/Anyways, it'll have to be in the city centre, since it's the closest..
It's weird that it moved, because they said on the website that it's planned to move on Frenchay since 2012, and I guess now it's Bower Ashton

Re: Frenchay Accomodation- Caroll Court
Is anyone just tidy? Because im quite tidy and for this reason I have applied for the student village... you know, own room with bathroom, but Im honestly worried that I'm going to turn into 'That Guy that writes notes' when people leave **** like week old baked beans and spilling beer everywhere. Im not crazy tidy, like messy is ok but not dirty.
I'm 22 and was in the military for four years and I think that this plays into it somewhat. haha I must sound like the most boring guy ever. Im really not, but then describing yourself as not boring isn't really worth much is it?
Anywayz if your a tidy turtle like me and want to share with others let me know peepsss!

Re: Frenchay Accomodation- Caroll Court
Heya guys, Ive just finished my first year at UWE, living in the Student Village until yesterday haha. Visited Caroll Court quite a lot, and there are actually 2 bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, supposedly for male and female. The houses are actually really nice to live in, while a lot more goes on in the flats party wise etc, Caroll Court is really quite sociable if u get good housemates. The back door means that in the sunshine you see many students sat outside their houses drinking, sunbathing etc, which is hard to do in the student village if your on the 5th floor. haha. Any questions feel free to ask?

Re: Frenchay Accomodation- Caroll Court
Hey guys! Just finished my first year at UWE living on Carroll Court and I think you all ort to know how amazing it has been! There is a massive sense of community and there is always someone with a door open to welcome you in if you're bored or in need of a drink!
The lay out of the house goes 2 guys down stairs, with 1 more upstairs with 3 girls. They are smallish but easy to live in!
I think mess is a problem everyone has on campus but as long as you keep on top of it you shouldn't worry. Some houses in the court have weekly inspections because they are that bad, but you will find these are the houses that have the most fun
If you wanna know anything more or are visiting in the next few weeks give me a message and ill be more than happy to reply!

Re: Frenchay Accomodation- Caroll CourtI lived on frenchay last year with a girl who studied at bower she just got the bus everyday.. it is a hour long but its not tooo bad and the pass is free. I wouldnt recommend caroll court it had a lot of complaints last year.. Marketgate is actually really good and you dont have to spend taxis every night you go out to get to and from town. If i was told about Marketgate i would of picked there. Frenchay is modern but sooo far out and strict. I to am going into 2nd year journalism which should of been frenchay but now bower... I am living in the centre which is a half hour bus ride or can cycle!(Original post by madison24)
