    Mech 1: lift questions, reaction
Hello guys my mechanics 1 CCEa exam is tomorrow however I am still confused with lift questions.

-why does the lifts reaction act downwards rather than upwards ?
    - how does say a person in the lift have an reaction that is equal but opposite and therefore cancels out ?

Having just looked back over lifts I'm pretty sure the reaction acts upwards but the force you're using is the force that causes the reaction if that makes sense.

I'm not sure what you're saying in your second question though.

    Good luck tomorrow
