Re: Chemistry AS unit 1 15th may 2012.
I get confused and I'm stressing because the structural formula I wrote was the one showing the bonds. And the display formula I wrote for the 2 marker following it.
In my defense I crossed out the wrong answer with the most pathetic of lines so I could still get it. I assumed that the atom economy was 100% and the reason for the enthalpy I put as it loses heat due to the copper heat loss -
Re: Chemistry AS unit 1 15th may 2012.I think so(Original post by amberee)
yeah for the species everyone had that answer
do you think they'll allow just writing Cl[SUP]35 or would you need the whole thing
I wasn't sure about that one and did it at the last minute so not enough time to write it all
I'm not so sure.

Re: Chemistry AS unit 1 15th may 2012.0.0666 i think(Original post by taxicab94)
Hi guys, i no it sounds funny but what was up with the first ppm question, I got really confused, what was it? -
Re: Chemistry AS unit 1 15th may 2012.What if you wrote the numbers to the left of the element? Eg 35Cl + 37Cl(Original post by Ataraxian-Walker)
It was Cl35 + Cl35 and Cl37 + Cl37.
And the next question was Cl35 + Cl37.

Re: Chemistry AS unit 1 15th may 2012.I was confused but then I did 66/1000000 = 6.6 x 10 -5(Original post by taxicab94)
Hi guys, i no it sounds funny but what was up with the first ppm question, I got really confused, what was it?
then I divided each of the answers by 1000 (1 kg) and chose the answer that was the same as the above -
Re: Chemistry AS unit 1 15th may 2012.Yeah that's totally fine(Original post by sabre2th1)
What if you wrote the numbers to the left of the element? Eg 35Cl + 37Cl
-
Re: Chemistry AS unit 1 15th may 2012.I don't think Cl37 + Cl35 will not be detected in the mass spectrometer(Original post by Ataraxian-Walker)
It was Cl35 + Cl35 and Cl37 + Cl37.
And the next question was Cl35 + Cl37.
Don't they need to be positive ions ... Cl37+ Cl35+ etc ... -
Re: Chemistry AS unit 1 15th may 2012.That's fine, but did you put the + indicating positive ions ?(Original post by sabre2th1)

Re: Chemistry AS unit 1 15th may 2012.I really have no idea, i just put those(Original post by YellowAndBlack)

Don't they need to be positive ions ... Cl37+ Cl35+ etc ...
If we had to put Cl35+, i probably messed up the question.

Re: Chemistry AS unit 1 15th may 2012.OH NOOOOO(Original post by YellowAndBlack)
That's fine, but did you put the + indicating positive ions ?
so is it wrong without putting the + sign?? -
Re: Chemistry AS unit 1 15th may 2012.They've never been anywhere near that high, don't worry.(Original post by amberee)
I have a feeling your going to need something crazy like 70/80 to get an A. Everyone at my school found this paper pretty easy going compared to January
I'm thinking A=62, B=56 -
Re: Chemistry AS unit 1 15th may 2012.Thanks
AH! No..(Original post by YellowAndBlack)
That's fine, but did you put the + indicating positive ions ?
Yeah -607 but I got 1.8 dm3(Original post by Killer_94)
for the enthalpy question did anyone get -607... and for the oxygen I got 0.9dm
I thought this was fairly easy paper... but i hope the grade boundaries aren't that high -
Re: Chemistry AS unit 1 15th may 2012.A will be 58 I think .. B 52(Original post by 117r)
They've never been anywhere near that high, don't worry.
I'm thinking A=62, B=56
It wasn't too much different from January -
Re: Chemistry AS unit 1 15th may 2012.Well I certainly hope so. I actually though it was quite hard - lots of sneaky questions. Just loads of people found it very easy...(Original post by YellowAndBlack)
