    Yodel delivery service
    or lack of more like.

They're useless, has anyone else had problems with them?

I ordered stuff from Boots but never got it because of Yodel. THey never left a card saying they tried to deliver so it's not like I could go and collect the stuff or ask for redelivery.

It's a shame because I like Boots and they have offered me a refund. I just won't buy online from Boots again due to Yodel.

I had this problem the other week! They're terrible! I ordered a phone from O2 and t was guaranteed next day, so I waited. And waited, so then I tried to call and I was in a queue for about half an hour so I gave up, then I had to go out to pick someone up, got back, no card to say they had been, so then the next day I call and I'm told it's in the depot. No more than 10 minutes later my neighbour knocks on my door saying that this was delivered to them last night at about 8pm (I was in the house!).

They're so bad, I will avoid them at all costs!

There are a lot of reviews online of Yodel stating how absolutely terrible they are. Just do a google search.

I've used them a couple of times I think, haven't had any problems myself.

Interesting recent piece from BBC... Yodel: New name, but delivering the same old problems?

I just watched the video, quite interesting, when I mentioned the name Yodel to my parents all I got was 'oh god, you won't be getting your parcel then' haha.

The OU used them to deliver my course books. Got a notice through the door telling me to collect it from the local centre - about 15 miles way - was just about to set off and luckily the next door neighbour appeared with it.

Ordered a motherboard from dabs through them and service was flawless, but I was very hesitant because of the bad reviews. I guess it's just based on luck.

They're very cheap, which is why a lot of retailers use them. Luckily our local guy is brilliant but when I used to live upcountry they were useless.

    I share your grimace.

I ordered some protein supplements online and when it was delivered, woe and behold, a massive dent in the box that protruded into the inside contents, compromising the sterile integrity everything... grrrrrrrr

Its as if they employ gorillas to load their vehicles

    Re: Yodel delivery service
I've had so many problems with yodel. Really don't like them.

I bought a wii fit with my boyfriend a couple of months ago, and it was being delivered by yodel. They gave us an estimated delivery date, so I stayed at home all day (thankfully I had a day off), and no delivery. Stayed home the next day, skipping lectures, just incase, no delivery. On the third day, I left the flat for just an hour to go to a tutorial at uni. And of course, when I got home there was a piece of paper saying they'd tried to deliver. There isn't anywhere within a 20 mile radius that I could pick it up from, and I don't have a car, so I rearranged delivery for the following Wednesday. On the Tuesday we bought something else that was to be delivered by yodel, and that turned up on the Wednesday, but no wii fit. In the end, Yodel send it back to the guy we bought the wii fit off, and we had to start the process all over again. Took about 2 months go get the wii fit.

I really don't have any confidence with Yodel, and try to avoid them at all costs. Their staff are rude and unhelpful, and to be honest, alot of them shouldn't be working as couriers. A parcel was delivered once by a frail old woman who could barely pick up the parcel...

There are so many horror stories about Yodel, some of which are funny, google them and read the reviews :P

    Re: Yodel delivery service
This has really dented my confidence in internet shopping. Now I'll look at the delivery service that a company uses to make sure it's not Yodel. Luckily, I've managed to get refunded so Boots (et al.) must get these problems a lot.

Also Yodel being cheap is actually false economy on their behalf because they have to pay their customers back who don't get their items.

edit: sorry for bad grammer, I'm tired

    Re: Yodel delivery service
I hate them. Worst delivery company ever. My mum ordered me a parcel. Her account, my delivery address (from QVC).

I waited in, checked doorbell was working etc. Next thing I know I get a "you were out card". No. I wasn't. The card says they will try again to deliver. Next day I got 2 "You were out" cards posted through the door, one with a handwritten and very rude message on it (something like "I'm not wasting my time with you any more, stop messing me around" - I was in!!). I tried to phone the company and complain, but was unable to get through to a human being. The nearest depot (and I live in central Bristol, not the outer hebrides) is about 20 miles away, and I don't drive.

The next day my Mum gets a phone call from the delivery driver (her name and presumably number were on the package as the person who ordered it). He was really nasty to her, swore at her and threatened her. He said he'd tried to leave the package with the neighbour (I live next to a pub?! Obviously they refused to take it). My Mum explained that she lives on the other side of the country and took his phone number, then phoned me with it and told me what he'd said.

By the time I'd got his phone number I was spitting nails that not only had he lied about /me/ messing /him/ around, he had posted a rude note through my door and threatened my Mum I rang him back (he wasn't outside) and he didn't answer. But not long later, the van pulls up outside. I was ready to give him a piece of my mind, but instead of coming to the door himself the bloody coward got a kid to run the package over to my door and leave it outside, before flooring it once the kid got back in the van. I was absolutely fuming. What an absolute bellend.

Yodel have been a nightmare for me. I paid for next day delivery, waited in all day and evening - no delivery. I tried ringing them and was put into a queue at 10p per minute. Gave up. The next morning I tried the track and trace and they had said no one was in and they had left a card. So no parcel and no card.

I had a similar experience with them through Amazon only this time they said they had made the delivery. I would pay extra to use a reputable courier but these companies like Amazon and Littlewoods do not listen/care.

I ordered a PC from amazon and unfortunately encountered Yodel. The worst service ever imagined. I can't continue writing this, its getting me angry. :facepalm2: ***sigh***

I ordered 2 science textbooks from Amazon,
and it was the first time Yodel were delivering it to me.
I was out but when I came home...the package was ripped open and each book posted through the letter box.
Good job there wasn't too much damage on the books!

    Re: Yodel delivery service
Theres a thread on another forum I frequent, over 2000 posts in it from people who have had problems with yodel.
They are the worst delivery service known to man, just dreadful.

They couldn't deliver my package, the drivers response was to put a card through the door indicating it was at an address 5 miles away (presumably the drivers home address or the next delivery destination). Instead of with a neighbour like any normal human being would think to do.
Oh, baring in mind I was in as well, i head the letterbox go and a van drive off, didn't even knock.
I phoned up the place I ordered from, told them I was disgusted with the service and told them to refund me and take it up with yodel.
