I got all the way to finding the volume of of water, then to find the radius i used volume of a sphere by accident :frown:

aah damn thats the same thing i did. im sure we still get 1 or 2 marks for calculation.. fingers crossed

what did people get for the hieght of the ball?
how is it 7.3m, wasnt the initital velocity something like 31ms^-1 so how could the hieght be so low.
i got something like 703m

No. The initial speed was 24sin30 (12). Use suvat.

s:?[br]u:12[br]v:0[br]a:9.8[br]t:Xs: ?[br]u: 12[br]v: 0[br]a: -9.8[br]t: X

v2=u2+2asv^2 = u^2 + 2as

0212219.6=7.35\frac{0^2-12^2}{-19.6} = 7.35

You must take the angle of projection into consideration. Vertical component of the velocity I think was 24sin30= 12m/s. then u substitute that into the equation.

DOH. Thanks for clearing that up. I see where I went wrong... I typed it in wrong into my calculator =[. I did u^2 / 9.81. Such a silly goose I am.Of all times.

everyone's different. I flopped in jan paper. was kinda happy with this paper since 7mks was about vector and scalar quantity.

Imagine there was no young modulus, stress, strain skydiver and all that lol.

Hope everyone passes and the grade boundaries be very very low.

whoever is doing S1 tomorrow, goodluck because im doing it aswell.

yayayayay! I got 7.3 m for the height of the ball as well! Gaaah, so happy- thought I had completely bummed that question, well that's 2 0r 3 out of 60... woooh

Haha got those three marks aswell
Looking at this, I don't think I did as bad as I thought I did. A relief, I guess.:smile:

Yeah I messed it up too, but h was 3m, since water went at a speed of 3ms^-1

:O
Afshar, why you mess up easy question? :frown:

anyone get 11.5 for angle of the slope? :smile:
I got 11.8.

Do you think they'll accept a range and my answer will be in the range? :smile:

depends on the method you used i think
Well I'm not A level student I'm in yr 11 and will be doing Physics next year, How is Physics as an a level?
Is it hard?
Do you enjoy it?
What do I need to do to get As or A*s at a level Physics???
Please give you experiences.
Does a good sixth form matter?

Thanks and good luck with your exams :smile::smile::smile::smile::smile:

It's hard but interesting, most people that I know love it! You need to do so much work continually all year, with frequent past paper questions on the topic that you're learning and keep up with definitions!
It's really really not enough to just revise for a couple of days before the exam - you literally have to never stop going over stuff that you've learnt!
I don't think a good sixth form matters much if you're willing to put the work in, but a dedicated teacher will definitely help!

Good luck at GCSE :biggrin: x
