C2 help needed

Just stuck on the last part I get the method but don't understand how

1 -0.96^n > 0.992 goes to 0.96^n < 0.008

Thanks

Move the -0.96^n to get

1>0.992+0.96n1>0.992+0.96^n

Then move the 0.992 to the other side:

10.992>0.96n1-0.992>0.96^n.

Hey why can't you do this to work out this question

X+12x35x2x6 X + 1 \sqrt{2x^3 - 5x^2 - x - 6}

This is regarding the second part of the question

first solve f(-1) = 0 to find the value of 'k'.

Then do the long division to find the other factors.

The -6 should have been a +6, may be its a typo.

You are doing correct, you can do long division.

I get the quotient 2x^2 - 3x - 2 remainder 4 , it doesn't divide :s-smilie:

I get the quotient as 2x27x+6 2x^2 - 7x +6 and the remainder 0.

Try again.
