Route 41 is wrong! It's a problem with your length of a line formula! However they should give the the marks through ECF!(Original post by HP348)
Hey how did you get that answer ?
i used sine = opp/ hyp
think i had root 41 / root 125

I'm sorry, what do you mean by this? "ECF"?
Ahh, errors carried forward.Last edited by Existentialistic; 17-05-2012 at 00:08. -
Yeah that's it, so if you got the first part wrong, the second part can be right so long as you use the wrong answer from the previous part(Original post by Existentialistic)

Re: Wjec maths c1 16/06/12I thought the co-ordinate gemeotry questions were pretty nice this year. There was a lot of showing them in the form given, which means you can easily check whether your answers to previous questions were right or not, else you wouldn't get the required answer.(Original post by Tullia)
I didn't sit the paper but some of the people in my class did and they said it was an OK paper throughout, but there was a parts of questions they couldn't manage.
A few people said something about the last part of the co-ordinate geometry question being a problem for them, but the rest of that being fine. Something about a part in the equation of tangent and normal, and then something near the end (that they also found tricky).
My teacher hasn't requested a copy of the paper as yet (and no one took one out of the exam hall like in January) and so he hasn't made solutions as yet. However, if and when he does then I'll have a scan of them and upload them (assuming someone hasn't already done it by then).
What happened in January to result in the lower than expected performance? It was a fairly easy paper (given the grade boundaries).
Hope you've done well though.
What kind of a mark do you think you've got?
Only tricky question I thought was with point Q on line C which is a normal to C, and had to remember to make -1/9 = 9 due to being a normal. I wasn't exactly sure how to lay it out to get the marks for method, but hope what I did was alright.
I'm hoping/expecting for 90+ this time round. I knew I did pretty badly in January and made mistakes, but I finished this paper in 48mins, and checked it over for 20-30minutes. -
I agree, though the last part where it was sine something was weird! Think I did it right though! 1/route5?(Original post by Astonix)

Also, with that -1/9 question, that was the only one i'd realised I'd done wrong when I left! I put it equal to -1/9 rather than changing it to 9!
