    C2 logs
    It is given that x=p +2 and y=3p (logx=log(base e)x)
Express log (y/e) in terms of p

by the way log base e is just written as ln

Can you use log laws to separate ln(y/e).

Why is it just wrote ln? I've come across this base e again, I don't understand it!

    And logy - loge

log_e x is known as the natural log of x it can also be written as ln x

Natural Logarithm, but Euler (who discovered e) was swiss so it was 'Logarithme Naturel' i.e. ln

That's how it's almost always written (should really be like that in your book too)

    okay that's right, and what's ln(e)?

Well you should know that log_a(a) for any number a is equal to 1. If not I suggest looking through the chapter again because you need to make sure you're familiar with the basics of logs

That was a few weeks ago though, and you've been doing a lot since then so hopefully you can do better than that. Do a past paper today and feedback to the forum via a thread or you can PM me

I just finished my physics unit 1 exam today, it was a resit, my first resit at A-Level.

I have S1 tomorrow, lets see how it goes.

Though i haven't started revising yet, i will probably not be able to help you much today.

    Why didn't you resit C1?

I can't discuss physics exam today, it is edexcel physics, an international exam. Though at most i can say it went well

I mean from the time i prepared S1, i haven't worked on it again. I need to revise the book, then will try to do a couple of past papers, i haven't done any yet.
