Why do people destroy their looks...
...through partying?
It's real sad. You get girls and guys who are really attractive then they just waste themselves away through booze. Is it me or does alcohol make you look older?
Girls I used to find attractive now looking like a make up caked mess by the time they're 23 and then I get turned off -
Re: Why do people destroy their looks...
I am in Uni 3rd year. Was gymming it all the time keeping myself in shape. But since Jan made real good progress, (6p etc).
Girls eat crap food, drink lots and don't exercise hence become fat, unattractive add the ingridients of the real beauty here: fake tan, make up and we can see the real problem.
I suppose for guys like me and you its worth finding someone in a sports club/gym as we'll definitely know they at least try to lead a good healthy lifestyle. However now there is a tendency of girls going to the gym just because they want to stalk ripped guys. Sad. -
Re: Why do people destroy their looks...And what about the girls that like to exercise outside of a gym because of money problems/other reasons? I personally hate the gym, but I love to go on a run a few times a week to keep fit - plus doing strengthening exercises at home. Just because a girl isn't in a gym doesn't mean she doesn't want to keep fit.(Original post by lad-lad)

Re: Why do people destroy their looks...
Well it's their choice; if they want to spend their youth going clubbing and getting drunk every day/week, good for them if they enjoy doing it. But eventually the alcohol and party lifestyle will have a big impact on their physical appearance and mental shape.

Re: Why do people destroy their looks...
Yeah alcohol does ravage your looks like hell. If you're the kind of person who likes to go out and pour a ton of spirits down your throat, you will pay for it.
You dont have to spend hours in the gym and expensive memberships. Eat a healthy diet with plenty of fibre, water, get enough sleep and you'll look great. -
Re: Why do people destroy their looks...
It does, the woman who last cut my hair at the barbers was like this. She had a voice like Jack Duckworth and a face like Alex Fergsuon. The whole time I was there she was just going on about getting pissed at the weekend. The excess alcohol must have aged her by at least 10 years.

Re: Why do people destroy their looks...I don't think this is the fault of SOLELY booze as opposed to people getting older and not being as active or not taking care of themselves(Original post by jblackmoustache)

Re: Why do people destroy their looks...
I guess they're too busy being young, foot loose and fancy free to give a darn. Which is all good... for now.
Getting drunk most nights loses its appeal really quickly for me. I can do one decent bender a week absolute tops, but mostly I go out about one in three weeks, or something like that. By student standards that's minimal, but ain't nobody got time for hangovers and feeling rubbish all the time.
I work out. -
Re: Why do people destroy their looks...
Seriously? Alcohol makes you look older/less attractive? Reeallly??
Well I never knew that!!
Good job I hardly ever drink then!!
I don't see the appeal of clubbing/getting so drunk you don't remember the night. I'd prefer to go to a pub and just have a drink or two, and only go clubbing now and then.
You feel so much healthier when you don't drink as well! -
Re: Why do people destroy their looks...I run every morning outside too. What I said was rather than meeting a girl "with a purpose" at the club it might be better meeting a girl in like a sport society place because there is a bigger chance that she looks after herself.(Original post by staring.space)

And by the way I pay 10 pounds a month for my gym, I am sure that even a beggar from the street can afford this.
I do appreciate you doing the work outside the gym, keep it up girl

Re: Why do people destroy their looks...I did I said people. I just said girls because i'm not attracted to men(Original post by jazzykinks)
How about asking about why it happens to guys too? -

oops! But yes, in response to your question, I think it's because of the kind of drinking culture we have nowadays. I didn't drink when I came to uni and people actually wouldn't talk to me because of it. Drinking is associated with having a good time, but it's a fallacy -- you can have a jolly good time without alcohol (arguably better because you remember everything and you don't make an idiot of yourself). What scared me was finding out that if I drink, all the hard work I do with my diet daily gets undone -- alcohol stops the absorption of nutrients, which impacts on your looks and, more importantly, general health.

Re: Why do people destroy their looks...Haha I enjoy a drink though. Student life :\ well, more importantly, fresher life. I do know that if I've had too much I get the odd spot, but otherwise I'm lucky. Drinking doesn't seem to impact my weight/looks despite being quite a heavy drinker if I'm on the lash. Some of us are just lucky...or it could be because everyone on my dad's side of the family is an alcoholic and I have a high alcohol tolerance = feel the effects less?

Re: Why do people destroy their looks...
theres many more things that girls ruin their looks with than drinking.... just off the top of my head: ruining their skin with makeup, wearing fake eye lashes, dying their hair until its all dry and rank, fake tans etc. people gona do what they wana do im afraid
